7 of us ate here in the upstairs dining area. Excellent service with a very knowledgable waitress regarding menu choice and wine . menu varied, plenty of fish choices and unusual tasting experiences. my starter was a little bland , I had asparagus, but the rest of the party made better choices and their starters were more exciting .

Thank you very much, we really appreciate your kind words. We are so pleased to hear that your overall experience was delightful however we apologise that your asparagus was bland. This certainly shouldn't be the case. We hope to see you soon. More

Visited with 3 colleagues whilst in London for a conference. We hadn't booked but didn't, on a Wednesday night, expect it to be busy, however it was fully booked and we had to wait a couple of hours for a table so I'd check or book or prepare to wait for a table/cancellation. Great food, although the beer choice was... More

This is a wonderful, authentic yet attractive gastropub. We had dinner there on a Sunday night and the roast was wonderful and comforting. The place is beautifully decorated and the food is fantastic: traditional british cuisine with a modern twist. The service is extremely friendly and efficient. We regret there were no more vegan options on the menu, they were... More

I met up with my cousins in the downstairs section of this very pleasant gastro pub. The wine list was extensive, not too badly priced for London and the service relaxed and friendly. I'd already eaten a big meal that day so didn't join them in having a Sunday roast. Although both their meals looked good, I thought that £20... More

There is a pub on the ground floor: quite loud and not super cosy so if you plan to dine here - make a reservation in the restaurant (upper floor). This area is very small, quite and nicely decorated. Good choice of beer and wine. We only had main course, it was alright (we had a Longhorn sirloin & smoked... More

Had a lovely roast dinner here for Mother's Day. Staff welcoming and attentive. The food was well cooked and of good quality, desserts were also very nice. Gets really busy here on a Sunday so would recommend booking in advance.

We booked here because we were staying in a nearby hotel and the gastro-pub style appealed to us. We arrived at 8:30pm as booked, but the table wasn't ready so we had to wait downstairs in the noisy and packed bar. Eventually at 9pm we were seated. We were a little disappointed with the choices available although as we were... More

I met up with two friends I had not seen for three years. I have been before but this was the best visit yet. The extraordinary starter of bone marrow and marmite bread and butter pudding with potted short rib was memorable. From then on it was merely good. Wines good but not over priced for London. Worth going back... More

Staying in Shoreditch

Neighbourhood Profile
The western front of the edgy East End, Shoreditch is a perennially trendy haven for anything “street” – be it art, food, or fashion. With its handful of well connected transportation links dotting its perimeter, along with an ever increasing variety of shops, hotels, bars, and restaurants, it's easy to explore this trend-conscious and youth-oriented neighbourhood. There's a lingering post-industrial grit about Shoreditch, but because it shares a border with “The City” financial district, the influence from its upscale neighbour can result in fascinating outcomes.
