Wonderful service. The drinks were perfectly chilled and the staff were attentive and understanding of what was required. Lovely location and ideal for sitting out on a sunny day letting the world go by. Food was lush.

Had late breakfast here. Empty but food was very nice if a bit on the pricey side. Nice layout though and will go again.

My parents and I stopped in at Gallery Mess for a quick, light bite to eat before heading to the the theatre. It's a lovely place for lunch. Both the interior and the outside terrace are breath-taking spaces. The setting and ambiance are very nice and it would be even more lovely on a warm summer day. We didn't have... More

Popped in for a lovely lunch following a trip to the saatchi gallery. Good value, two courses with a glass of wine approx £25. Good portions, tasty dishes, friendly efficient service. Would go back again.

Clean place, attentive service, however food prices are very high for what you actually get.Menu's prices exclude the VAT charge ? & also a service charge is added which should be at your discretion. These cunningly additional extras put another 33% on the bill. So,next time that I'm hungry when visiting the Saatchi Gallery,I shall eat elsewhere,as there are so many better competitors... More

We met up on the spur of the moment at Peter Jones's in late December and - looking for somewhere Christmassy, settled on Mess. Magical as always - we ate sparingly, added in some superb wine, enjoyed the sparkly lights from our table overlooking the square... and were left strictly alone for several hours to catch up and enjoy pre-Christmas... Great location but the cafe/restaurant really did not live up to expectations. We came for brunch but would not come again nor recommend it to anyone else. The "unlimited" Bloody Mary was undrinkable. Eggs benedict - very ordinary muffin, the eggs were far too vinegary and the hollandaise sauce on top looked like it had been on it for a... More

Whilst the restaurant is a great place to meet in the winter, its real advantage is in the summer when one can dine outside in the grounds of Duke of York Sq, under old trees with a view over the Saatchi Gallery in the distance. Food is delicious, great risotto or fish n chips. But also tea and scones are... More

I went in for dinner with a colleague last week and found the overall experience very enjoyable! We ordered the stone bass and risotto as suggested by the very friendly floor manager Fatlum. The food was lovely and since we are wine lovers he even suggested for us to try the Picpoul de Pinet ,we were very happy with his... More

Staying in Chelsea

Neighbourhood Profile
Chelsea
Wealth courses through The King's Road, Chelsea's upmarket artery of West London life packed with shops, eateries and glitzy nightspots. For people-watching at its best and luxury retail therapy that's largely unrivalled, this area cannot be missed. But if this showy street starts to overwhelm or a moment of price tag shock sends you reeling, a quick detour down pretty much any of many King's Road veins will reveal a quieter side of Chelsea. Here the stately Royal Hospital hosts its world-famous flower show, and the Thames rolls along at a lazy pace, with leafy Battersea Park and its Peace Pagoda beckoning from across the river.
