Interesting menu and incredibly informative friendly staff. Food was excellent and portion size more than adequate. Went with a friend who is something of an Indian cuisine expert who declared Varanasi among the best he had experienced. Good prices too

We were staying at the Crowne Plaza about 10 minutes away and fancied a curry. We chose the right place. The restaurant is small and friendly. The food was good and decent enough portions. We also had a laugh with the waiter who provided useful advice on the spiciness of a curry I had never had before. Prices were reasonable... More

I cannot understand how this place has such a good star rating. We ordered a takeaway based on the glowing reviews and were sorely disappointed. The food took over an hour to arrive and when it did it was cold and horrible. The palak paneer was utterly tasteless and bland, the garlic naan was bitter and inedible and the daal... More

Really enjoyed dinner. The place doesn't look much from the outside but don't let that put you off. The food is OUTSTANDING and great value. The lamb mo mo starter is worth the 15 minute wait and the lamb xacuti was creamy and so so tasty. We were well served by nice people as well and the beer was good... More

I asked Varanasi for a reservation for initially 10 which later became 6 then 5. They were flexible regarding my reservation which made the surprise party less stressful. The table was in a perfect spot and we were never without Kingfisher. The chef prepared a special appetizer plate for each guest which was one of each of the appetizers on... More

Description
One of the leading Indian Takeaway & Dine In Restaurants in Battersea, SW11 3JR.

We offer the varied delicious tastes and cuisines of India, from homes, wayside stalls and palaces presented in style, retaining its authentic nature. REAL Indian cuisine - which is the specialty of the Varanasi Chefs - is distinctive. It is exotic, aromatic and flavourful, relying on a subtle blend of herbs and spices, and provides an interesting contrast with Curries - the sauce based foods, Chats - the Indian street foods and with Tandoori- the clay oven foods
