Went for brunch with friends staying at the Four Seasons. The restaurant ambience was lovely - even though it wasn't especially busy it didn't feel like a ghost town - and the staff were at exactly the right level of attentiveness. But that's not really the point, and it's not why I gave five stars. No, that's because of the... More

And will definitely be returning. The staff are fantastic. Very open, welcoming and friendly with good sense of humours. Food is good and an excellent selection of wines.

Another first time visit .. the peaceful lobby led through to a beautifully designed restaurant. Top notch staff offering a menu with excellent choices. We opted for the Eggs Rustico and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. We will return !

My friend and I had just been for afternoon tea at a nearby hotel and I decided to introduce her to the lovely Amaranto bar, as I've been before and always enjoy my time there. We were greeted warmly and seated promptly. The atmosphere and surroundings are chic, yet comfortable and although it is a big space it still feels... More

My husband wanted to give me a birthday special treat so thought the Amaranto would fit the bill. From the moment we arrived the staff were welcoming, friendly and attentive and the restaurant is a beautiful room. My husband chose as a starter the Fritto Misto, which was delicious. I chose a salad with smoked ricotta and walnuts in it... More

Pretty much a hotel restaurant. Good place to eat in a pinch. Food is standard hotel far. Not a destination restaurant, No expectations here. The lounge is nice when the pianist is playing.

Sunday nights most restaurants in London are closed, and on top of it, it was Sunday, January 1, a holiday. The Amaranto is across the street from our hotel, The InterContinental, whose restaurant was among those closed, and it was open, so we jumped at the opportunity. The place was lovely, but the bottle of wine we ordered that cost... More

From the friendly people who welcomed us, to the wonderful sommelier with whom I had so much fun and who give me sort of a private 'tasting' up until my 'moelleux' aka chocolate fondant. And lets not forget my pasta with truffle and the champagne and the ...well, you get my point right? ;)

We had a memorable New Year's Day brunch. Thanks to the great chef and staff, but mainly thanks to our fantastic server Dario. First class.

I have been here several times and the quality of the food is high as well as the price/quality ratio if yiu take the menu at 35 pounds (3 courses and a glass of champagne). However service sometimes is lacking and waiters are not always capable to take care of the clients in a satisfactory manner

Staying in Mayfair

Neighbourhood Profile
Mayfair
Set beside some of London's best parks and home to world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic streets will reveal that Michelin stars and chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even if you're on a tight budget, this exceptionally well connected swath of Central London is worth exploring, if only for the chance to take a peak at the goings on of upper crust English society.
