The only problem was the over-popularity of this venue.... not surprising in view of its excellence. There was quite a 'buzz' around the place and the drinks were served very elegantly and with good humour. Ten out of ten. Architecture/setting fabulous.

We were a group of 5 seated on a banquette, with a small aisle between our table and the adjoining banquette which meant that the waiters were constantly wedged between the two tables with posteriors uncomfortably close to our table. The free cocktail was positively...More

A beautiful building and setting for fine dining. Quail starter was very good as was the Burrata and Smoked Salmon pate. Halibut was delicious although for me, a little too much sauce - the fish was excellent and did not need it. Sea bass was...More

We visited The Gilbert Scott on the occasion of my wife's birthday. From the restaurant reception to the end of the meal, the service was superb. Waiters were happy, courteous and knowledgeable but not intrusive and the food was of a high standard and very...More

I was treated to meal and what a wonderful experience. We sat on the chefs table and had sommeliers choice of wines to accompany the 7 course menu. The whole evening was explemplary.

Went there for Sunday lunch. In an empty bar it took them half an hour to prepare 5 drinks. When we sat at our table, half an hour after taking our orders we had to ask them if we'd been forgotten. Nobody came to say...More

Great service and atmosphere, but the food was extremely overpriced for what it was. Would not come back.

Staying at The Renaissance hotel I wanted a special meal with a friend so we chose Gilbert Scott. I had high expectations of a michelin star restaurant. Service was average and wine very over priced. It tasted no different to a £5 supermarket bottle! Food...More

A wonderful restaurant tucked away in the recesses of a fantastically updated station. The main room is large, bright and opulent. Service was attentive and spot on. The lunch special we had was for three courses. Excellent, tasty food, not a lot of it but...More

I'm not sure, I didn't see any children there and I don't think they cater for children specifically. Personally I think the atmosphere is quite formal so not particularly children friendly but it's only an opinion.

They do cater for vegetarians - best thing to do would be to go in to their websites and view the menu to see the options.
