I found this restaurant with a friend of mine, last year. I ate a spectacular pizza and a nice wine! I was really happy, for this reason I returned a few days ago..I must say that nothing has changed at all! Even better now! I tasted several dishes: lovely tagliata, wine (the best!) and some appetizers. Very very yummy! I'm... More

Having flown back from a weekend in rome we managed to go to a local theatre to see a show. After, we wandered past and were hungry so popped in. It was 10.30. We were seated and served by the most surly miserable waitress you can imagine. Now if you don't want to serve people at that time just don't... More

Visited this establishment with my wife before catching a train from Charing x I so wished we crossed haymarket rd and enjoyed an alternative venue. We were both hungry after work and thought it looked nice, after checking the prices we entered. Although the prices seemed reasonable we discovered that the portions were very small. For an Italian pizza/spaghettini house.... More

Booked a table for 2 on line Friday 10 March. Just a short step away from theatre showing Phantom. Excellent choice for us, food was very good and reasonably priced, good service leaving us to enjoy a leisurely meal and to amble across road to the theatre. Thank you.

I'm really not sure where to start with this place. We popped in for food as it looked really nice from outside (and I was desperate for the loo and couldn't be bothered to walk any further). The restaurant wasn't busy and we were seated pretty quickly. We ordered drinks and I went exploring to find the toilet (it's downstairs...).... More

We were looking for a nice restaurant pre theatre and came across this restaurant as it looked very nice from the outside. As the saying goes never judge a book by its cover which is very true. We ordered the lasagne and mushroom risotto the portions were reasonable for central London however the risotto was edible but the lasagne was... More

My husband and I dined here this evening prior to a theatre trip. The restaurant was not overly busy (perhaps a warning that should've been heeded!) and we were able to get a table straight away without a reservation. To be honest, I wish we'd chosen somewhere else. The food we ordered (a risotto and a lasagne) arrived quickly and... More

The location was great and Assaggetti certainly looked nice, although the menu was short and rather uninspiring. As we were pre-theatre we didn't want anything too ambitious so I ordered the Sicilian caponata pizza which sounded a bit more interesting. Sadly when it arrived the base was almost soggy and under cooked. I know I could/should have complained and sent... More

First night, had booked a pre theatre package, including this place. Food ok, service staff pleasant. On a second visit, with no reservation, at first told no places, then a table was found. All a bit rushed, but then this seems to be a restaurant for mainly a passing trade so you should base expectations on that. Asked for tap... More

Staying in Trafalgar Square / Embankment

Neighbourhood Profile
Trafalgar Square / Embankment
With its iconic Nelson’s Column, majestic oversized lions and brightly-lit fountains, Trafalgar Square is not just considered the heart of this bustling London hub, but the very core of the city itself. Beyond this esteemed gathering place are more famous icons, as well as a disproportionate numbers of the city’s most popular cultural attractions including the National Gallery and many West End theaters. Along the way to these major sites are quiet lanes and antiquated pubs to discover, as well as riverside vistas to enjoy on the embankment. With a calendar full of celebratory events, any time of year is a fine time to visit.
