Went here for Mother's Day and yes it was busy but on ordering we weren't told that there was an hour wait on food - would've been nice to have been given a heads up. Also the service was quite curt and non responsive when...More

Many thanks for your review. Sincerest apologies you were not told about the food wait time, the staff were informed at all times so there was no excuse for this. It was an incredibly busy day as I'm sure you were aware and even with...More

We had a great roast at the Garden Gate on Sunday. We arrived with 2 dogs after getting rained on at the Heath and were welcomed with bowls for the dogs and great beer (Timothy Taylor and Meantime) for us. Didn't have to wait long...More

We visited for a mid week lunch on our way to the Royal Free but the Garden Gate is also close to Hampstead Heath. We enjoyed fish finger 'sandwiches' - battered pieces of fish with tartare sauce served in a brioche bun with fries. We...More

A nice spot for after work meet-ups. Drinks and snacks were ok - just like what you can get from most pubs. Dinner options were good but very often some items on their dinner menu weren't available. Service was usually good and efficient, but there're...More

We went here for Sunday lunch and I ordered the Burger, and when the waitress brought my food out there was a massive green bottle fly swimming in my burger sauce that was served on the side.. DISGUSTING. When I sent it back to the...More

Terrible service, waited 1hr after ordering. Forgot one meal. Had to remind waitress to a ask how steaks should be cooked. Food ok but not worth the poor service. Maybe an off day. We won't find out as not coming back.

Description
Welcome to The Garden Gate, the front door to the best alfresco fun in north London. Our beer garden is one of the city's finest, while inside is pretty inspiring, too. This 19th century pub has a long tradition of accommodating weary walkers and lovely locals from Hampstead Heath, and today we're doing it in style with fresh, home-cooked pub food, a stunning choice of speciality drinks and an ultra-relaxed atmosphere.
