I am from Shanghai so when my friend wants to try out shanghai cuisines, this is the place I will choose to go. Of course there are so many choices on the menu are not shanghai dishes but as a shanghainese it isn't hard to pick out the traditional shanghai dishes. If you are not sure, just ask the waiter/waitress.... More

Others had told me this was a great place to eat, but not on the evening we went. Admittedly it was mid week so it lacked ambiance, the food was not memorable except for two dishes. The first was the Peking Duck, which was delicious but small, the second was a fish dish. We ordered a Chilean Sea Bass but... More

Visit alone whilst on a business trip. The service was ok but mixed and left you feeling like it could have been better. I think chicken and sweet corn soup at £9 is way too expensive as it is ordinary and the rice with the main seemed a little overlooked. It came to around £65 which I though to be... More

Went here over the weekend for an engagement party. We had all veggie options as the guests were mostly vegetarian. Being a non veg myself I have to confess to really enjoying the starters and mains. I didn't enjoy the toffee bananas too much as the toffee coating wasn't that tasty nor was it surprised with any kind of ice... More

As ever this place is pure wow. The food is seriously fine. The service is great. Started with a selection if dumplings. The pea shoit and chicken was setiously good, the I had the braised porc which was melt in the mouth. Also had seabass in ginger and braisrd tofu with mushrooms, enough to convert me to vegetarian. The jasmine... More

Very middle of the road, would not rush back. Welcoming friendly but table service was very erratic. Best dish we ordered by far was the salt & pepper squid, it was crispy, tasty, totally delicious. Other dishes were just OK.

We were looking forward to this visit. Having spent time in Asia we are always looking out for restaurants serving authentic food. So one Sunday lunchtime in February ... Large dining area, many Chinese customers. First problem encountered was the service. Very friendly, but dishes arrived at odd times so some were on starters, some on soup and some on... More

One of the best Chinese in town. Great presentation and good flavours. Big dining area and so it's not too noisy if you'd like to talk to your friend/partner etc in comparison to other Chinese places. Lack of service a little and so little guidance on food or delayed service (hence the 4-star) Been there twice and probably would go... More

It was Valentine and we were in Baker Street , so decided to go to the Royal China first. They told us that is was 45 pounds per person minimum, so we left immediately. Outrageous that somebody will dictate the customer how much he or she will spend. So we walked in to this restaurant. Unfortunately they brought us three... More

Staying in Marylebone

Neighbourhood Profile
Marylebone
Marylebone offers what so many London neighbourhoods cannot: a village feel coupled with urban convenience. Much of its success rests in its location. Wedged between the northeastern corner of Hyde Park and the southern end of Regent's Park and with a number of Tube stations within easy reach, Marylebone is as pedestrian friendly as Central London gets. The bustling shopping mecca of Oxford Street separates it from Soho and Mayfair, exclusive Regent Street marks its border with Fitzrovia, and cosmopolitan Edgware Road serves as its western edge. Within this enviably situated quarter are an array of outstanding restaurants (from Michelin darlings to down and dirty cheeseburgers), an impressive assortment of independently owned shops, and some of the city's quietest and most pleasant nooks, crannies and cobbled lanes.
