We filmed in the City recently and Bea's were able to not only provide a selection of beautiful looking cakes etc, but also to open early and keep our crew nourished through the shoot. Ana in particular effectively became part of our crew, constantly helpful and cheerful... Thank you Bea's !

The website says "no frills" but it is just awful. The scones were over cooked with hard crusts and looked like rock cakes. The cupcakes were ok but had unpleasant flavours (lavender, peanut etc). The 'sandwiches' are bread mounds with tiny amounts of filling on top. Brownies were dry and didn't have much flavour. It may be a cheap afternoon... More

We decided quite last minute to get a birthday cake for our boss at work and I went on a hunt to find one. I came across Bea's of Bloomsbury as it was nearby our office. I rang and enquired whether they would be able to make a 8 inch Triple Chocolate Cake with an inscription for the next day.... More

We choose Bea’s for Afternoon Tea based on a recommendation in the Lonely Planet Best of London. (2017). It was described as “one of the original and best; cakes are its forte”. It is nothing like that! Tea comes as tea bags, clotted cream is served in a little plastic cup and the atmosphere is hectic and busy. The praised... More

An Easter Sunday treat and it didn't disappoint! Open sandwiches on home made bread, and so many lovely cakes. Well worth it!

Went in for a coffee and sat for about 30 minutes listening to the sexiest remarks by the male waiter. "We only serve beautiful women", "today we serve ladies and handsome men but we will make an exception for you, haha!" There is an urgent training need to drill into the staff that it is never, under any circumstance, acceptable... More

Bea's really care about each customer, and, for all of us, staff, and directors, this is totally unacceptable behaviour, and please accept our sincere apologies. Please would you be kind enough to provide your contact details to cakes@beas.london, so we can formally pursue this matter internally, and respond back as soon as possible. More

We were treated to a lovely baked goods and tea whilst we waited for our train. The lady at the front shop was so friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

Went to Bea's Cakes at Saint Paul's for afternoon tea. The brioche, on which the tea sandwiches were served, was doughy and on the verge of stale. I thought the sweets were kind of heavy as well. The scones and the tea were the best part of the experience. They are the only reason for the third star. If I... More

I came to Bea's hoping for a more relaxed atmosphere. Here are my observations... Drinks: I'd like to point out there was no offering of cold drinks as an alternative to hot ones. One of my friends wasn't even offered a hot alternative, so she asked for orange juice which she was charged extra for. Another friend was offered hot... More

Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
