One of the top places for coffee in London, and where I get my beans from. I usually buy some beans to skip the queue, and get a cafe au lait while I wait.

Just bought this coffee that was almost half empty for £3.20. Plenty of better coffee options around.

Several people had recommended Monmouth and I'm glad we visited. We were lucky enough to get a seat and enjoyed two great coffees each. The whole time we were there the line poured out onto the street. There were a few pastries a available and some fresh baguettes with jam. It was great

I always buy my morning coffee from here as it's very good coffee. This morning I went to get my usual cup of black americano and when I reached the till to may I was informed the price had risen from £2:00 to £3:05! Mysteriously the price of an black americano did not appear on the price board. That's a... More

Really high quality coffee and good service. £3.10 for a latte is a tad on the steep side but quality makes up for the extra expense

I am sure that I understand why there are so many people waiting up to buy a coffee. I tasted which is only average. I must admit the service is good. At least they come to take your order when you are waiting in line.

Great cup of coffee. Love picking up a coffee here then going for a mooch around borough market. I try and fit it into any visit to London. It's always very busy so although it does have some seating probably not a great option if you're looking to park yourself for a bit.

What can I say. .. there are many coffee joints sprouting in London these days but Monmouth has stayed up there all these years. The silky smooth flat whites are just the thing to start the morning. The lines are long as would be expected but no one seems to mind. As a purchaser of beans, the staff offer the... More

Where do you get a good coffee in London on a Saturday morning? Monmouth Coffee in Borough Market of course! We travelled across the river for this and arrived at 7:45am to find it already packed! Super pastries and great coffee, it was well worth the trip and not just because it was just about the only place open before... More

Staying in Southwark

Neighbourhood Profile
Southwark
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighbourhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
