I find myself often returning to The Lady Ottoline in its quiet corner of Bloomsbury. It combines a charming ambience with good food and an outstanding drink selection. It's a place where you feel that you are in a special place but which is quite un-fussy. The historic connection to Bloomsbury is a wonderful bonus.

We enjoyed the selection of gins. The menu was good and well priced. The beef was excellent with generous serves. Rhubarb panda cotta could have done with more rhubarb. Coffee was not their strength.

The good points: they allowed us to have a table reserved for the whole evening, the service was in general good and the wine was good. The pub is very cute. Negatives: we pre-ordered the three course set menu, sadly I was a little disappointed with the standard of the food. My starter, which was gammon came and was one... More

The setting is great, what a treat it is to walk into a London pub with a fire going in the corner but sadly other than that and the staff the rest of the lunch was a let down. We ordered the set Christmas menu and between us has Ham Hock and Salmon starters followed by Turkey and Fish for... More

A friend in London took me here. As a US tourist you usually eat at a pub that is only a block from the major roads. Take the time to venture just a little bit more to this wonderful pub. It features over 100 Gins. I had gin-cured salmon with chutney as my appetizer, had a delicious flak steak and... More

I went to this pub back in October and have been meaning to write a review because it was so lovely. Its a great place for winter brunches, the decor is bright airy but still cosy and the big bonus is that they allow dogs downstairs (I don't believe upstairs), although a nice touch would be to supply little doggy... Went there last Thursday with a group of friends. The waiter was really helpful despite the confusion we made to order. I got an hamburger despite it wasn't on the list. The food and beer were good and the upstairs dining room looked really cozy and nice.

Neighbourhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
