Just happened to walk past as it was opening. Really welcoming and friendly staff, really nice vegetarian okonomiyaki and nice small side orders. It was really amazing, if you're in London you really should stop by!

Went for a quick lunch, service was really slow and disorganised, food not bad but nothing to write home about. Expensive for what it was and just not worth the money. They missed our sides and I had finished my meal by the time they brought my partners order despite asking several times. They still expected us to pay the... More

It was a first encounter with this type of food. I assumed that they serve a lot of different dishes according to the menu. But in the end you will eat all the ingredients in one single pancake. The taste is not much special. Staff is friendly and helpful.

Second time visiting and just as good as the first - amazing food, very tasty and reasonably priced. No Japanese staff this time round so can see why some may feel it's not 'authentic' but to be honest, the food and atmosphere was so good it really didn't bother us.

They have hot surfaces on the table in front of you and they make your Okonomiyaki there. The food is good, same for the experience. Price ok: around 15£ for a big one

A fake 'osaka' style Japanese restaurant with no genuine chefs that is geared towards the local tourist industry of Leicester Square. Queues are large and the operate a bizarre policy of not allowing 2 x groups of 2 onto a four man table. (Tip if you are a pair and you want to get a table quickly grab a nearby... More

I have been going to Abeno and Abeno too for many years and the food never disappoints. It is Mor of a diner than fine do it bit for 2-4 people it is still possible to socialise over dinner. Try a couple of starters, kimchi and prawn tempura are my top recommendations. Then share a super supreme okonomiyaki - they... More

The okonomi yaki is cooked right in front of you at your table and is a mesmerising little show. We had the pork one and it was seriously good, basically topped with bacon. Also ordered two noodle dishes: the vegetable om soba and the chicken yaki soba. Really tasty food and friendly service. Would definitely recommend for a bit of... More

My previous experiences were good here, but hadn't visited for a year before today's visit. Previously, we'd be greeted and served by Japanese staff who took pride in the presentation of the okonomi-yaki. Today's visit was a disappointment. Although the tempura, okonomi-yaki and om-soba tasted ok, the presentation of the okonomi-yaki was far from "Japanese". On flipping the okonomi-yaki during... More

It was the first time I tried okonomiyaki and it fulfilled my expectations. I visited Abeno a second time with a friend and he loved it too. Nice portions, quick service, enjoyable cooking.
