Just came back from girls dim sum lunch here. Service - efficient, and yes they will hurry you out of the restaurant after you have finished - there was a queue of customers waiting outside for their Sunday Dim sum, so to be expected, reminds me of Hong Kong though. Food - all fresh and good. No remnants of old... More

After a bit of research, we decided to go to this restaurant for dim sum. The place was busy. Service was fine. Dim sum was good. But nothing outstanding though.

A most enjoyable experience.I came here in a party of three and shared mainly dim sum and one noodle dish. The only criticism I can give is that I wish I could have had more!We had a bit of a shock when our Hong Kong style cheung fung was actually just a pile of noodles in a peanut sauce.Absolutely fantastic and... Went with a friend, was a recommendation. Pleasantly surprised with the reasonable price, efficient service and good quality dim sum. Like any other restaurant in chinatown be prepared to be subtlely ushered out after you finish your meal - there's no hanging about here! The restaurant is narrow and tall (4 floors), with a tiny lift for transporting customers up... More

Joy King Lau In London’s Chinatown choosing a good Chinese restaurant is a real problem, specially if you do not go regularly . These business’ change hands, the chef moves and hey presto the whole restaurant looses it quality. Facing that problem this week we went back to an old favourite Joy King Lan at 3 Leicester Street just a... More

This is a very established restaurant and I have came here since I was a child; as many reviews has mentioned , it is very efficient and speedy service. The dim sum is of good standard ,although nothing amazing . On occasions I found the layout of the table is a bit of squeeze, but the waiting staff are mostly approachable... More

Still wonderful quality after many years, good variety, stairs to upper floors might be a problem for older customers

Lunch booking for five adults and baby - useful lift to take pram+father up to 2nd floor. Very busy and very fast efficient service. Great food, similar to what we've eaten before at the New World and Dumplings Legend, but perhaps even better quality. Less than £75 for the five of us and we were all very satisfied and full of... Terribly efficient in managing the tables even on very busy days. Good for dim sum. Not particularly fine but honest. Even if in China town.

Dim Sum at JKL is probably the best I have tasted, outside of China. This unimposing restaurant serves up fresh, tasty Dim Sum with unequalled speed and courtesy. Absolutely to be recommended. ... and did I say it was extremely reasonably priced?

Thank tullidge

Staying in Soho

Neighbourhood Profile
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighbourhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
