Really enjoyed lunch here with a colleague. Great service. great food...quickly served. We both had the house dish and only drank water....we split the bill at the end and I frankly didn't look at the details and having had a great lunch went on our individual ways....Imagine my surprise when I looked at my cc statement at the end of... Great atmosphere and quality make this restaurant a very good option for your Italian-style dinner. Everything comes with a price... Overall definitely recommended!

Nice enough decor on the main level. We were seated in the lower level, which is a bit of a depressing windowless room that feels like overflow seating. In retrospect, I wished I had insisted on sitting upstairs. The food was good, service was fine. There's just nothing really memorable about it to justify the expense. The whole experience was... An old favourite that I had not visited for some time but, unexpectedly finding myself needing a quiet meal alone, this more than met my needs. Delightful staff, excellent, traditional Italian menu. Delightful.

One of my favourite restauarants in london . Very professional staff who work hard to ensure every need is met for all guests . The food was as always delicious ...Hard to resist the crab linguine and the carpaccio with black truffle. Extensive wine list . Expensive but presumably that is in part due to the number of waiters they... More

Popped in for coffee and a snack. Service was slow, choice very limited but food OK. Even by Mayfair standards this is a very expensive place. My advice go somewhere else for a coffee

The food at Franco's continues to be very good. The truffle pasta was sublime and so was their steak Rossini. In fact every one of the dishes we ordered on the night we visited were delightful. I've been to Franco's now four times and I can not fault the quality of their food. The service however on this particular occasion... More

Thank you for you positive feedback on the food we serve at Franco's. We are very fortunate to have a very talented Chef who takes great pride in his menu as do all of his team. We are however saddened to discover that you felt let down by the quality of the service on your last occasion. I would like... More

Thank you for taking the time to write your review. Of course we are disappointed that you could not find a wine by the glass that you liked. Particularly as we offer no less than 31 different wines by the glass, including Champagne, Procecco, Franciacorta, rosé, white, red, fortified and dessert wines. It would be a shame for you not... Visited recently for a very good lunch. Arrived on time and was shown to our table immediately. Great selection of specials and ordered from it, great service and hope to visit again soon.

We had three courses, all dishes reasonable, nothing special, very small and terribly overpriced, the steak tartare was hardly seasoned, my macaroni dish was luke warm, food was very average really. You pay for the service, that's West London for you!

Thank you for taking the time to write of your recent experience at Franco's. Of course we are disappointed you did not like our Steak Tartar which we admit is lightly seasoned, leaving the seasoning to your own taste. We would have gladly heated or replaced the Macaroni dish if you had mentioned this to us at the time. We... More

Opened in 1946 in Mayfair, Franco's restaurant has been one of London's most popular Italian establishments ever since. It continues to offer local gourmets a tranquil oasis away from the buzz of the city. Set at the St Jamess end of Jermyn Street, Franco's is fantastically located for the galleries, private clubs and hotels of the area. And the pre-theatre and afternoon tea menus are a delight. The restaurants character evolves throughout the day from the early morning breakfasts to laid-back lunches and romantic candlelit dinners in the evening. The elegant 1940s-inspired dcor is bright and modern, with light wood, off-white walls and comfy upholstered dining chairs. Franco's sumptuous Mediterranean menu has been developed by Head Chef Paulo Parlanti and showcases fresh seasonal produce in traditional and modern Italian dishes. Popular dishes include the duck breast with Castelluccio lentils; ossobucco ravioli with veal jus; and the classic tiramisu. Service is flawless and the wine list is a winner too.

Staying in St. James's

Neighbourhood Profile
St. James's
Perennially fashionable since the days of Henry VIII, the aristocratic “Clubland” of St James's is a premier destination for high end craft and bespoke design. Here you’ll lose count of the Royal Warrants (which indicate that the Royal Family patronizes the establishment) seen in shop front windows, even during a short stroll to bordering Green Park or St James’s Park. With the brightly lit and constantly buzzing junction of Piccadilly Circus at its northeast corner and none of Central London too far away, this is an surprisingly central and accessible part of town, especially given its prosperous demeanor.
