The Bleeding Heart Bistro maintains a high standard in a relaxed atmosphere close to Farringdon Station. Always dependable with extremely good service.

A pleasant evening for all. Nicely done by the restaurant. A safe and secure choice if not the biggest wow factor around. Tables just a tad close together for the romantic but then this is a bistro. And for a grown-up family get-together, just enough noise and buzz around you to make you comfortable without drowning you out.

After a show in London we walked over to the bleedingheart. We been many times in the past and expected to have a lovely meal. Unfortunately that was not to be the case. All of the food on the menu is effectively heated it's no longer cooked. The highlight was Gravelax. The lamb, crab and poussin were poor. It was... More

Not to be confused with the BH Tavern or BH Restaurant, this has a good menu of the classic bistro dishes. The waiters were attentive without being intrusive, quiet ambiance which allowed conversation - nice for a change!

Had a private dinner for 16 in the dining room round a single table. The food was excellent and the service very friendly and pleasant. Having a menu with choices for such a large table was a bonus. So why didn't I give it 5? I would have if the staff had got the order right for every course. For... More

I can only assume this place is busy because of the atmosphere and surroundings, which were good. However, the service was poor (slow, casual and surly) and the food was close to awful. I've had much better versions of cassoulet out of a tin (and yep, that is a very good indication of how bad it was) and nearly 20... More

we visited the Bistro after the Theatre and although our daughter didn't join us until at least 30 mins after our booked time the Manager told us not to worry and offered us bread and butter whilst we waited. it was worth waiting for! the escargot was delicious, and the Strathclyde Limousine steak melted in the mouth. my husband had... Very good food, decent sized portions and reasonably priced. Good choice of wine by the glass. Friendly waiter. Lovely atmosphere. What more could you want.

Mid December saw a return to the Bistro for an reunion with old work colleagues. Even though we were well into the Christman celebration period and the place was full to bursting the service and food were excellent as always. Looking forward to next visit already.

The Bleeding Heart Restaurant has always been a firm favourite of mine, so I thought I'd try the bistro. I was profoundly disappointed. Perhaps I should forgive them since it was the first working day of the new year. Whilst the menu appears interesting the food was uninspired. I ordered butternut risotto from the set menu: it was bland and... More
