After travelling for 3 weeks in Eastern Europe I was craving a Kosher style deli corn beef or Montreal smoked meat sandwich. Gaby's Deli was the closest venue in downtown London I could find open on a Saturday. Don't judge the book by the cover....More

Visited this restaurant after a friend recommended it to me. The restaurant has a relaxed vibe with a mixed clientele or tourists, theatre people and the odd hipster. The food came in good sized portions and was cooked with love. The prices are London prices...More

This place is an institution, right? Show business people and Jeremy Corbin eat there. The staff are in an old Jewish deli tradition -- i.e., brusque. The salt beef is what they're known for. Mine was dry, to tell the truth, but the pickle was...More

My husband and I have been eating at Gaby's for 45 years, on every visit to London, and the quality and ambience haven't changed a jot. We sat at a table beneath a fan on a hot day and ordered our usual: the special salt...More

No hint of globalisation at Gaby's. I always have a falafel and tap water, I read Time Out, cost £5.80. Staff unobtrusive. A quiet place in the heart of central London.

I love this place. With so many chain restaurants in the area it is good to go somewhere that is not. I had a very good salt beef sandwich with wine. Service is good and friendly. Located by Leicester Square tube station this is worth...More

This place seems to have been run by elderly Iraqi brothers since the beginning of time. It is loved by many Londoners and indeed there was a big campaign a few years ago when it looked as if Gaby's was going to be forced to...More

When I first came across Gaby's, I thought, great a deli close to my local haunts. However, the clerk who served me went out of his way to be as rude as possible and I'll now never set foot in here again... Well done that...More
