We booked this restaurant for a birthday and pre Easter meal for Saturday. When we arrived we were greeted by a very nice and helpful young waiter who showed us to our table for six. We ordered starters which arrived quite quickly and apart from the selection of Italian meats, other members of the party who had ordered various different... More

Got this restaurant through Groupon so we were a bit limited in our expectations. We needn't have worried, the food was great and the staff so friendly and obliging. Can't wait to re book.

Looking for a place to eat we past this restaurant on Sunday evening. And I immediately loved it. Because they had live Jazz music! (Every sunday evening) The place is really nice, a good vibe and lovely interior. And nice happy staff. The food was good and tasty. And there is a good balance between price and quality. I would... I came along last Sunday evening after being recommended by work colleagues who saw a top trumpet player there. However, even though the large advertisements in the window said there was live Jazz, what was playing was Gospel/Soul....whatever but definitely not Jazz. I was disappointed to come out in the cold and left after a quick drink.

We chose our meal from the 2 Course Menu which was really good value. Nice touch with free entree and bread basket with oil and balsamic, as well as the shot at the end (we'd ordered Amaretto to finish off our meal, so received an additional measure each for free). Neither of us finished our mains as we were too... More

We decided to try out The Lavender for lunch as the pub we had been planning to go to was packed. On the plus side it was quiet, waitress was really friendly and attentive, and beer and wine was good. Food was OK but didn't bowl us over.

We were a party of six on a Sunday evening and were delighted by the quality of both food and service. The staff had just the right balance of professional efficiency and charming personability. The foods were well presented and everything was cooked to perfection. While both the desserts and accompanying vegetables were quite small and elegant, the main course... More

This is a regular haunt for us for dinner. Great service, beer on tap, good wine & lovely food. Can get busy which slows service but that honestly doesn't matter. There is a very relaxed & friendly feel to the place which we love.

Description
The former Lavender Pub was brought by a group of Italian chefs and food loving entrepreneurs who have achieved their aim of transforming it into an Italian restaurant with character specialising in authentic food and wine from Italy. . The Lavender Wine Bar and Restaurant offers a relaxing dining experience away from the stress and speed of the city. We pride ourselves in offering you exceptional ingredients, simply cooked and second to none. The ingredients used in our kitchen are always fresh. We select our fish, seafood and meat from Billingsgate and Smithfield markets several times a week so the menu may slightly vary according to season and availability. The menu is short, seasonal and includes beautiful Seafood platters with tuna tartare and king prawns. Exeptional Organic linguine with king prawns, calamari, mussels and baby cherry tomatoes or Organic linguine with lobster and baby cherry tomatoes. We also re-interpreted some English dishes with an Italian twist - try our organic burger with Pecorino cheese... We do have a weekly Special board with new Italian dishes usually seasonal. All the Wines on our extensive list (over 40) are from small independent Italian producers and from different parts of Italy. We also have 4 draft beers/ciders and many other bottled ones and we serve Cocktails.
