My wife and I went last week for an early evening dinner, under £20 for two courses off a menu with a decent number of choices on it. We both went for the asparagus, poached egg and hollandaise starter, a classic for a reason. The egg was perfect, the hollandaise excellent and the asparagus was perfectly cooked......could have been a... More

Had a lovely early evening dinner with a girlfriend last week, tasty food and a good value wine list, friendly staff in a nice room. I had seared tuna to start followed by steamed hake and my friend English asparagus and lamb, all delicious. I will be returning soon.

Having visited on a few previous occasions we had found this venue upmarket, fresh, innovative and highly acceptable as a real treat. Unfortunately this time we experienced pub grub at fancy prices: unremarkable main courses of pork belly and rump of lamb, starters of chicken liver paté and bland duck salad. Unimaginitive cuisine. The restaurant felt and smelt overworked perhaps... More

Had a lovely dinner here with friends last night. Busy, buzzing restaurant, good service and really good food. The best for miles around and certainly up there with Chez Bruce. Good value too for the quality.

Having been a regular here for many years, it is interesting to see the changes. Last night, we went to dinner and had really poor service: no one came to the table for 10 mins after we sat down, we ended up pouring our own drinks and did not have knives and forks. I know staff need experience but better... More

The Light House continues to be the undisputed family favourite restaurant in the area and is first choice to celebrate any occasion. Children are excellently accommodated; the menu always presents a difficult choice with so many delicious options; the wine list is varied but not daunting, suggesting careful selection rather than over-stocking (risking poor storage), and is very reasonably priced.... Ate on a Monday night at 8.45 and was pleasantly surprised how busy the restaurant was and what a good atmosphere it had. Food was delicious and service excellent!

We normally go for a meal in the summer so it was interesting to see how seasonal the menu is, I was concerned at first as everything seemed super meaty and rich but it was all divine as usual! Every mouthful was a treat and we thoroughly enjoyed it - a great ham hock hash to start followed by haddock... More

The Light House opened in 1999 to great critical acclaim and has gone from strength to strength ever since. Now well established as a friendly, neighbourhood restaurant with a modern, international menu and an inspiring selection of wines. The friendly, professional service contributes to its well deserved reputation as one on of the best places to eat in South West London. We now have air-conditioned dining too!
