Love this restaurant. I come here every time I come to London for the last 30 years....yikes! I recommend the lobster with noodles, spicy calamari, the stuffed aubergine with shrimp, and the Dover flounder. Staff is quite friendly and always busy so make reservations!

I have been to Mandarin Kitchen numerous times now and the lobster noodles are always amazing. The other dishes are smaller in size (which is reflected in the price) which allows you to eat lots of different dishes (the beef is also excellent). Best to go in a larger group of people. 4*s because the desserts are very limited and... More

Have been visiting the restaurant on and off for last 7 years and the food has been consistently very good and the staff friendly. The restaurant's specialties include seafood which is excellent but it is equally good in the traditional Chinese dishes (crispy aromatic duck, etc,)

This is the ultimate place recommended by the crew of SQ. therefore, I need to check it out. Despite the underground trains on strike, the rain. I battled them both n found myself seated on a corner at 3pm ordering everyone's favourite, lobster noodles. The lobster I was told comes from Scotland. It was similar to the place I ate... More

The dishes were all fine; some were even quite outstanding. However, the rice was all mushed up. When we pointed this out to the waitress, she replied “we only have that.” Rice is the most important part of any Asian cuisine. That they got this crucial part so wrong is unacceptable.

Incredibly delicious. Must get the crispy seawood and crispy duck and of course lobster if you're 3 or more people. You can tell it's authentic because of all the Chinese people who go there. I would advise to make a reservation if you're going for dinner. The place gets packed!!

We did our research and chose to dine here on our final night in London. We decided on the ginger and onion lobster for 2 with the soft noodle. We also elected the bbq Peking duck and bbq pork (we were hungry). Everything came out on time. Service was on point. We also had the wonton and hot/sour soup. The... More

We had dinner at the Mandarin Kitchen on 18 Dec as we have read good reviews online about its food. We had the lobster noodle, crispy duck, sweet and source pork, yang chow fried rice and a vegetable. The lobsters were huge, fresh and succulent and the noodles were tasty as it soaked up the sweetness of the lobsters. We... More

Staying in Notting Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
Notting Hill
As West London's friskiest corner, Notting Hill more than manages to retain plenty of the same appeal that's brought the affluent area so much worldwide attention. In this attractive cobblestoned neighbourhood, a delectable variety of eateries, independent shops, galleries and street vendors offer a delightful window into how to live the good life in London, with each presenting visitors with an experience that's a little more idiosyncratic and endearing than the last. Travelers looking to forage for antiques should be sure to visit the Portobello Road Market on Saturdays, the largest antiques market in the United Kingdom.
