As one would expect 'Marcus' provided a very good lunch for my friend and I when we dined here while catching up in London. The lunch menu represented great value as far as the food was concerned and it was clear that the executive chef had paid great attention to the menu. My friend being a vegetarian was very surprised... More

The food here is really nice, all three of our courses and the bread were lovely. Just as you would expect. However, we did feel a little like we were constantly trying to be sold something. The main issue was with the sommelier's selection of wine. For £43 it cannot be called more than a dribble, literally about 3 mouth's... More

Visited her last year and also left them a review. However this time, the 5/8 course taster menu had increased quite significantly from last year which was £50. Now the choice is £105 for 5 courses or £120.00 for 8. That's more than a 100% increase, lets not forget vat and service on top so at least another third to... More

This is our sixth visit over last 8 years or so. When visiting London from Scotland we usually try to book. We have tried a few other Michelin Star establishments in London over the years but we always return to Marcus as its consistently good. We had a lovely lunch, the food was wonderful but, as reluctant as I am... More

Attentive staff. Beautiful presentation, however the main course was barely warm. So very disappointing for such an expensive dining experience. Maybe a plate warmer or cloches covering the food would help keep the food hot for when it finally reaches the table.

Last night was a 'significant' birthday, so my husband re-mortgaged the house and pawned the cats and took us, my parents and six friends to the Chef's table for dinner. It was sublime, and worth every penny! From the pre-dinner cocktails, through the eight course tasting menu, to the surprise birthday pudding, everything we ate was stunning. When organising it... I was much delighted to pick up this Michelin-starred restaurant for lunch when planning my trip in London, since each aspect of this restaurant was truly impeccable and outstanding. The lunch set menu really got a high CP value and deserved a great applause, a total of 7 courses including amuse bouche and petit four only for 50 pounds, and... More

A really tricky place to review, and to me Bart J's review from last week pretty much summed up our experience with: "if this is your Michelin-starred one-off treat then I think there are better choices out there". In summary we found the food, service and restaurant was good (some of it very good, none of it excellent), but overall... More

All dishes were very well-seasoned. Cumin spiced bread served very warm was a true winner, crusty and fragrant. P.S. Not to mention about complimentary coffee or tea and a ginger cake to be brought home as well!

Marcus Wareing, apart from being one of the most famous multi-starred chefs, most certainly is among the most exacting ones. As this demanding side of his has no mercy, he subjects himself to the unforgiving scrutiny in the first place, and its ruthlessness beats that of any critic. That’s the secret of his success in general and with regards to... More

Staying in Belgravia

Neighbourhood Profile
Belgravia
Home to the vast majority of embassies and diplomatic residences in London, sophisticated and upscale Belgravia also boasts a wealth of luxury hotels, fine dining restaurants, and some of the city’s most stroll worthy lanes. While the prices here are high, taking a leisurely stroll through the streets of picturesque and elegant white stucco houses is free. Hyde Park and the Buckingham Palace Gardens are only a stone's throw away to the north, and some of Europe’s best shopping is nearby as well.
