One year ago, Rasoi was my favourite Indian restaurant in London. Now, it has metamorphosed into a refurbished temple to Indian taste. Five of us visited it in January just after the reopening for a business meal. But, Does it work? Is it any better? Do not come to the newly branded Veneet at Rasoi looking for a hearty plate... I have been here many times, it is unparalleled. Everything: the food, drink, care, presentation, staff, expertise, decor.. a true experience. They have recently refurbished and remodelled themselves as an 'experience' restaurant with no à la carte menu. Do not let this put you off, this experience is worth having (as many times as you can), and you are more... More

This boutique restaurant in Lincoln Street is almost impossible to discern from the outside as it is simply part of a property with a normal main door. It generates its charm partly from this and also the intimate atmosphere in the restaurant itself. The flavours of Indian cuisine are delicious and not, as one might potentially expect, over powering but... More

My wife and I had their tasting menus (1 veggie, 1 not) and loved it, we were both very full by the end of the evening. The best Indian food we have tasted, sometimes also integrating ingredients one would not really call Indian!

To me this is the best Indian restaurant in the world. The flavors are authentic but then mixed in inventive and daring ways - so each meal is an adventure. The food is also beautiful, creative, enticing and fun. The restaurant is very small, reservations are a must. You should have a sense of adventure - this is not the... More

We haven't been for a couple of years, and two of us went for a birthday dinner. Given the great experiences from the past, we were expecting the best! The restaurant certainly isn't what it used to be. £177 for two courses and one bottle of the cheapest wine on the menu was way too much for what we got.... More

Rasoi was quite good. The food met my expectations of a Michelin one star restaurant. Service was excellent and staff made menu flexible to mix and match.

Original indian food, very well attended. Marvelous. Here's a picture of the wine they recommended. Excellent with the salmon.

An amazing fine dining experience that was full of flavour, invention and culinary genius. Rasoi takes Indian cuisine to another level. The vegetarian dishes were incredible and the overall experience was a welcome change from other high class Indian restaurants. The service was superb, with commentary throughout the meal. The portions were generous and we felt very spoilt by Kenny... More

I have been to this restaurant over many years and have always loved the set up - it is in a converted terraced house - and the food. I had not been for a while and decided to go there with some of my family visiting London. Although the set up is the same, unfortunately the food is just not... More

Rasoi means 'kitchen' and, in this case, also means fabulous, award-winning, bravura cooking. Vineet Bhatia is the chef who won Zaika the first Michelin star ever for an Indian restaurant, now he has opened this intimate, upmarket, charming townhouse restaurant in Chelsea. Rooms are smart modern with splashes of colourful Indian saris and artwork. The 'evolved Indian' menu may include dishes like starter of assorted sea scallops which are spice-crusted, chilli, sesame and onion seed, main course of grilled spice marinated duck escalopes with hot tamarind chutney, sauteed garlic shiitake mushrooms and onion fritters, and pudding of poached pear, ginger, and yoghurt cheesecake with blueberries and fennel sorbet. Superb wines

Staying in Chelsea

Neighbourhood Profile
Wealth courses through The King's Road, Chelsea's upmarket artery of West London life packed with shops, eateries and glitzy nightspots. For people-watching at its best and luxury retail therapy that's largely unrivalled, this area cannot be missed. But if this showy street starts to overwhelm or a moment of price tag shock sends you reeling, a quick detour down pretty much any of many King's Road veins will reveal a quieter side of Chelsea. Here the stately Royal Hospital hosts its world-famous flower show, and the Thames rolls along at a lazy pace, with leafy Battersea Park and its Peace Pagoda beckoning from across the river.
