We were a group of 10 for a business meal. All starters and mains were excellent. The fillet steak was particularly good. Excellent service from our server CC. Very enjoyable.

I came here with one of the girls as we managed to find a good deal online. We were served really quickly but as we were in the middle of our starters we were already being asked what we wanted for main and how we wanted our steak etc. So it felt like we were being a little bit rushed.... More

Smiths has been one of my favourite places to have lunch or brunch since it opened in 2000. The ground floor restaurant feels very warehousey, informal, and serves some wonderful dishes (often incorporating meats from Smithfield meat market). No trip is complete without their Bloody Mary :) I've always found the staff incredibly friendly; a special shout goes out to... More

SOS team went the extra mile to squeeze us in for a dinner even if we did not book a table. We were served by Sisi, who was very attentive and nice. We had an amazing bottle of Valpolicella with a fantastic steak! Loved the decor and then vibe of the 2nd floor restaurant, much better than the 3rd floor... More

Came for a birthday brunch with a small group of friends, including once child aged 4 (who was very well behaved considering the circumstances). We were ten minutes late to our reservation, in that time one of our party had arrived and was ignored until we all arrived. Once we arrived and ordered, firstly the staff were apathetic and didn't... More

Walking by this restaurant I noticed it advertising a craft beer bar. We decided to give it a try. I asked for something strong and hoppy which appeared to confuse the lady behind the bar. Other staff provided assistance recommended a beer that was very good. Most of the beer range is bottled and they only have a few beers... More

My niece booked this restaurant for a weekend visit and we pitched up for Sunday lunch. The downstairs was lively and busy, but we were destined for the 3rd floor dining room, which was bright, warm, and moderately busy. We were seated near the floor to ceiling glass doors, which give you fabulous views of the city. Service was very... More

First visit here and were pleasantly surprised to be able to order a fillet steak with our Groupon voucher. Fabulous restaurant, excellent service and an amazing steak (and we are fussy about steak). Great atmosphere and vibe in the restaurant. Rooftop terrace an added bonus to the experience. Would definitely recommend and we will be back soon. Tip: book directly... More

Staying in Clerkenwell

Neighbourhood Profile
Owing to its proximity to Smithfield Market – the site of an ancient meat market which remains in operation today – Clerkenwell boasts a plethora of globally renowned restaurants, fabulous local eateries, and some of London's favorite pubs. This isn't merely a focal point for all things foodie though. Spend enough time wondering through the area's maze of streets and you might become accustomed to the litany of slinky models passing between Clerkenwell's handful of fashion houses. Far outnumbering the models are craftspeople and designers, many of them are more than happy to welcome visitors into their studios and showrooms.
