This is a really old school restaurant where fish is the order of the day. The staff are courteous and professional. The food is simply and well cooked. The seating is a bit like a mess or canteen with long tables, and one is not...More

Love this place, its unique, please don't change it! The fish is really good, as is the personal polite but very friendly service. Great pointed shrimp, salmon, haddock and sole. Far from cheap, but an experience not to be missed in our ever changing city....More

This old school restaurant is steeped in history. Mainly fish classics, good wine and great atmosphere, helped by the table arrangements. Start with a black velvet and take your time over great fresh fish. There are so few of these restaurant types left in London,...More

The venue is fun; old fashioned, not smart, lot of character, very much appealing to tourists on a nostalgic kick. Good bar with lots of silver tankards; very limited and expensive wine list. The food is OK, not good; customers are definitely not there for...More

Food....well do get the grilled skate wing, peas and mashed potatoes as these were excellent, world class preparations. Wine bar extraordinaire but did I mention Guiness served in a silver mug? Oh yes, oysters on the half shell and on and on for fish or...More

Sweetings don't take reservations they open 11.30-3pm Monday to Friday so it's best to get there fairly early to ensure a table.
