We went here after a friend recommended it. The restaurant has a lovely friendly vibe with all the staff interacting with us. We were seated near the chefs so we could see all the fantastic food being prepared. The service is efficient but not over...More

I have had brunch here twice and could not fault it. The food is beautiful and it’s a nice atmosphere for bottomless brunches, but without that pub feel. Every restaurant on Bermondsey Street allows dogs, including this one (yay). I love the rustic interiors, including...More

The staff we very welcoming when we arrived for a walk-in, receiving us immediately. The look was very unique, with very modern-rustic coloring and mis-matched but original chairs, as well as some music that really set the vibe, that made for one of the coolest...More

Dear Adam Thank you for your great feedback. It really means a lot to us to hear that you enjoyed your visit so much. The Gazpacho is one of my favourite starters as well. Unfortunately we had a very busy Sunday and it is regrettable...More

Great decor and ambiance. Had scallops as the entree and miso glazed salmon as the main and they were absolutely lovely. The staff were friendly and attentive, and checked a couple of times to make sure everything's ok for me. Would love to visit again!

I did not find this place great or bad. Good atmosphere and excellent staff, but menu was a bit disappointing. I had the chilli calamari and the mushroom mains, which were fine.

On the recommendation of my son, I booked for dinner - after all, where else would I get a cocktail that starts with Laphroaig and includes a cherry? After that, the tasty stuffed aubergines were full of flavour and texture and a nice lead into...More

We had a good meal here. Menu small but varied enough to offer a good choice. Quality of food good and reasonably priced

Visited with partner for brunch. Great pancakes and fruit salad. Tasty juice. Staff friendly. Only downside was a rather unreasonable customer who was dealt with well by the staff!

Great coffee and atmosphere and the staff were very polite, friendly and attentive. My food was good and my eggs were cooked just the way I liked them which was great. I debated between an average and very good rating but had to go average...More

Trendy venue in trendy area. Have had breakfast and brunch here a number of times, but always been disappointed by the food until most recent visit this weekend when I had a great bacon sandwich (actually 2) - crispy bacon, toasted ciabatta, avocado and chilli...More

Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard,
the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond
any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some

browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street,
foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old
foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks
of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest

This is actually pretty good. However "The Garrison" is a firm favourite for quirky. The decor is unique - check the drawers in your table - and the food tasty.

Village East restaurant in chic south London enclave Bermondsey Street is designed to call to mind a hip East Village establishment in Manhattan. It sprawls through a listed warehouse and glass-fronted apartment building and is decorated in polished concrete, rough wooden pillars, striking curved white chairs, and a wide open kitchen. Sit back and enjoy a cocktail or glass of wine while watching chefs hard at work creating the modern eclectic dishes that make up the Village East menu. In laymans terms, this means European flavours and techniques are coupled with South East Asian influences, resulting in some intriguing combinations. We had our eye on the seared scallops and caramelised pork belly with carrot puree and teriyaki glaze; and the West Cork beef burger with sauteed foie gras, caramelised onion, jumbo gherkin and chips, but if youre more in the mood for a steak, or fish and chips, theres plenty of that on offer too.
