Having been to the wolseley many times before to eat, we decided to try breakfast as a special treat for our adult daughter's birthday. I did mention the special occasion on the on line booking, but we were delighted to be shown to a great circular table in the centre of the place. She was also presented with a lovely... More

This is a very large and popular restaurant and watering hole that is always very full. We went very late and it was packed; reservations are essential. The service was ok (the coat-checker was borderline rude) as was the food. The drinks were great and generous! What is amazing about this place is the cavernous room with spectacular chandeliers; I... More

Always had a great time at the Wolseley. Great breakfast, buzzy for lunch and a great night out for dinner. Food consistent, well presented and tasty. Only gripe can be its so busy sometimes that the staff are rushed off their feet and don't get enough time to concentrate on the service. I will alway enjoy the Wolseley it just... More

Undoubtedly The Wolseley is a landmark restaurant, smart, stylish and definitely worth visiting. Although it is extremely busy ( reservation is a must), the service is excellent. The food is exceptional ! The speciality is probably the schnitzel (3 types), and the salads. Desserts too are formidable! Makes your dining experience a truly memorable occasion. Will surely visit again when... More

I have been to this restaurant 3 times in the last 3 months with the same business contacts. Every time we have received terrible service. Service so bad that it is remarked upon more than the food. It is considerably worse than any other restaurant in the same high-end category. The staff are rude, lazy, unhelpful. They cluster together and... More

This is the place to take visitors to london. I love the wolseley. Yes it is a london institution but it deserves it and is still excellent. I have only ever been here for breakfast but I hear it is wonderful for other meals as well. The atmosphere is fantastic - it feels oh so European and there is always... More

Walk in for afternoon tea, good first impression, agile and attentive service and good quality. Having finished found It hard to attract attention to pay the bill. Then visited loo before leaving....can't repeat the state I found it in, just fled.

I had visited The Wolseley a few times before and always thought it quite special. Returning now after a couple of years I must say we were extremely disappointed. While the room still is very beautiful, the service has become careless and the quality of the food suddenly seems less than average. We waited a long time for our breakfast... More

We booked this as it has always been a London must do for us and we weren't disappointed. The food and setting were exceptional and we loved the fact that we could have a luxury dining experience without the snootyness of some of the high end restaurants. It's just such an amazing space, the servers are fantastic and it's just... More

Staying in St. James's

Neighbourhood Profile
St. James's
Perennially fashionable since the days of Henry VIII, the aristocratic “Clubland” of St James's is a premier destination for high end craft and bespoke design. Here you’ll lose count of the Royal Warrants (which indicate that the Royal Family patronizes the establishment) seen in shop front windows, even during a short stroll to bordering Green Park or St James’s Park. With the brightly lit and constantly buzzing junction of Piccadilly Circus at its northeast corner and none of Central London too far away, this is an surprisingly central and accessible part of town, especially given its prosperous demeanor.
