Popped in for cheeky cocktails, been here before for an excellent afternoon tea so knew we'd be looked after.

An excellent place for the first night in London. While the setting is opulent, the menu contains classic comfort food--I had Eggs Benedict while my wife ordered scallops and mashed potatoes. Our dinner companions ordered (different) grilled fish. It was the perfect meal after a 10 hour flight. Food and serviced were excellent as before.

The setting for breakfast was fantastic, the staff were friendly and professional, the atmosphere was pretty much as I have had before

On our recent trip to London my son in law booked us in for a breakfast. It was very busy and a great atmosphere, food was good but not exceptional.

Not cheap, and you must book, but the food and service are really first class. The whole hing is a great experience, like tea at F & M's! Four of us had brunch there, most of us had excellent eggs Benedict and great coffee.

Sadly, other than the actual building which is beautiful, we have nothing good to say about this place, 1-Ample waiters standing around chatting but slow to come over and serve, didn't come back to check if all was well. 2- very simple menus- so very disappointing the chips were cold, and the 2 dishes we ordered were terrible. 3- Once... I probably read over 100 restaurant reviews and asked local friends for their recommendations before deciding where to eat when I was in London in November. Hands down the #1 recommendation was always The Wolseley. Everything was impeccable from the reception staff who accommodated a table change, to the knowledgeable server, who never made us feel rushed, to the iconic... More

Great atmosphere, lots of show biz people and terrific service. The menu is comfortable unlike many complicated menus around the West End. Loads of - hate to use the word but it works here "nice" things to eat. Didn't try the schnitzels because I've never had a good one outside Austria. All very good and my wife had decided it's... The Wolseley has been an occasional treat for a few years and a recent lunch stop continued the experience. We managed to pick up a late booking for lunch, midweek, and had an excellent meal with fine service. As ever, a fine range of diners to share the experience with, and the surroundings are as entertaining as ever. Always happy... More

We booked The Private Room for our daughter's 40th birthday dinner party. The location is wonderful, with views over the entire restaurant. The menu we selected was executed superbly and the staff who attended us were delightful and efficient. It was a thoroughly enjoyable, intimate evening.

Staying in St. James's

Neighbourhood Profile
St. James's
Perennially fashionable since the days of Henry VIII, the aristocratic “Clubland” of St James's is a premier destination for high end craft and bespoke design. Here you’ll lose count of the Royal Warrants (which indicate that the Royal Family patronizes the establishment) seen in shop front windows, even during a short stroll to bordering Green Park or St James’s Park. With the brightly lit and constantly buzzing junction of Piccadilly Circus at its northeast corner and none of Central London too far away, this is an surprisingly central and accessible part of town, especially given its prosperous demeanor.
