I like dining at the Wolseley when I visit London. All the way from the old school doorman to the wait staff, you get a level of refined service that just isn't all that common any more. All this is complemented by great food served...More

...but make a reservation!!! Even on the weekdays you'll need it. This truly is a place to eat and see others eating. Business deals during the week and brunchers on the weekend. I'd highly recommend a traditional English breakfast here, but you can't go wrong!

Met up with an old friend for lunch, didnt book but the super friendly staff soon had a table for us. The service is fantastic, the menu is varied and we all enjoyed our lunch. Great position on Piccadilly.

We went for afternoon tea for an 80th birthday and couldn't have been happier with the experience. The tea was generous and enjoyable but what made the afternoon so pleasant was the service and the staff. Everyone knew of the birthday celebration and wished our...More

What a disappointment. 5-6 weeks ago I booked a table for 3 of us for a friend's birthday, today. Requested a table on one of the small balconies, but was told at the time they would do what they could. Whilst "afternoon tea" was delicious,...More

Following an exhibition at the Royal Academy, The Wolseley is a one minute walk along Piccadilly. Booking is always advisable due the busy nature of the area. We arrived as a party of six, including a wheelchair, and our table wasn't ready. We waited in...More

We visited at the very beginning of the Wolseley's inception, and I cannot see now why all the fuss and hype! The food was competently cooked. Nothing more! And the vast area under which we sat was grand, but no grander than other noble restaurants....More

I have been here at least 6 times for breakfast. I have never been completely satisfied. The food is always cold and the service is generally slow. The only thing it has going for it is the ambiance. I am not sure I will ever...More

Even if we are only in London for the day, we never miss a visit to The Wolseley, whatever time of day we visit. A tiny disappointment this visit were the chewy snails. Much better the last time we visited.

Set beside some of London's best parks and home to
world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed
thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of
London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is
haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is
vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic
streets will reveal that Michelin stars and
chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even

Is staff accommodating in terms of allowing couples to split one order of afternoon tea? From other reviews I've read, it appears that the amount of food can be too much for one person, but just right for a couple.

I don't see why they wouldn't. Although if it's charged per person and they see both of you eating they'll x2 your bill I'd suspect, after all they are a business.

I agree smart casual is OK. There are some very smartly dressed people. I went for a late supper after the theatre. If you are lucky you might even spot the odd celebrity.
