We went for a meal before a concert at the Festival Hall. Arriving around 5.00 pm, we were pleasantly surprised to find the place relatively quiet (we'd worried we might need to book a table). It did not remain so. By the time we had finished our meal (around 6.10 pm), the place had really filled up. We had great... More

I work in waterloo and I can't resit going to lunch in Pizza express! The staff are always bubbly and friendly, not to mention the food is AMAZING!! I am not really one for chain restaurants, but I really like Pizza Express Royal Hall! :D

Situated about 5 minutes walk from Waterloo Station and right behind the Royal Festival Hall. A big restaurant. We booked a table but we could have got in without for 6.30pm (Friday). I would say this probably caters for the quick turnaround meal before people go to the Royal Festival Hall, but we were OK to linger. Food at Pizza... More

We went for lunch on a Saturday at 12pm. The restaurant was full and we got seated quickly. The food came in good time but the restaurant was so busy that the staff forgot coffees that we ordered and to give us the bill, which made our stay longer than we planned. We really enjoyed the food and we loved... More

There was a time when (I thought at least) that Pizza Express could hold its own with the best in Europe but this was a long time ago and I have noticed a gradual decline as it has expanded all over the country. For me it hit rock bottom last night in this cavernous establishment when I ordered the leggero... More

Pizza Express is a chain of restaurants that I normally avoid - not because of any bad experience in the past, but just because I'm not fond of pizzas, pastas and the like. But when with grandchildren, you do what grandchildren want. The place was busy and pretty full when we arrived, so I was pleasantly surprised when (having booked... More

We often eat here and use downloaded discount vouchers which make it even better value. Salads are very good, so my wife tells me, and the pizzas are really excellent. Service is quick and friendly.

We were there last night at around 5:45. The place was busy but the service and the food was spot on. The guy that looked after us was really good. We had two young kids with us and he was helpful with what they had.

This was part of our group tour dining options. We were scheduled to watch a 730PM show at Geilgud Theatre so our appointment was set at 500PM. When we arrived, we were immediately led to our seats but we were informed that drinks were not included. Thus, we ordered drinks, with some of my students ordering cider drinks. We finished... Food was as expected, my usual superfood salad and chocolate fudge cake choice (booooring...) - nice portions, etc Service was friendly, but slow - the restaurant was about half full (a Monday night). I'm not usually fussed about food presentation, but the cheesecake presentation, particularly the coulis, was slapped on the plate. Difficult to describe, but rather eye catching! Convenient... Staying in Southbank

Neighbourhood Profile
Southbank
Big time attractions such as the London Eye and a thriving theatre scene (compliments of the National Theatre and the Young Vic) are but a few of the reasons that Southbank is such a collectively cherished part of town. With plenty of family friendly activities and venues lined up along a pedestrianized river bank between Westminster Bridge and Waterloo Bridge, visitors can always expect a casual and festive atmosphere. On top of all the fun stuff to do at Southbank is the opportunity to simply sit back and admire photo-op views of iconic landmarks like Parliament and St Paul's Cathedral, just on across the Thames.
