I had not eaten at this place in a long time, which is a shame because it is really a very respectable Italian restaurant. The decoration has been updated, but the restaurant remains very traditional and in some respects, slightly dated probably due to its long tenure in Knightsbridge. Sale e Pepe is located on a quiet street in Knightsbridge... More

When we arrived we were met by a smiling, nice guy. We waited only for few minutes and on the way to the table we ordered 2 prosecco. After that we had to ask 4 times more and wait more than 15 min!! to get our prosecco. Then its game over for me. How is that possible? I ordered asparagus.... More

We were staying in Knightsbridge for a night and just wondered out in the evening looking for a restaurant to have dinner. We tend to just walk and see where our noses take us. We love many cuisines but Italian comes on our favourite top few. We walked around a few blocks and having stumbled across this small restaurant on... More

We googled and saw they had singing waiters! Its just a couple of blocks behind Harrods Department store. Go out the back entrance. Ask how to get to Basil Street. The waiters are so fun that we went twice on a 5 day trip! Everything we had was fantastic! And yes we did get Marlo to sing to us! We... More

It's been years since we last dined at Sale e Pepe so we were looking forward to the usual crazy banter and singing outbursts. However - the staff seemed to be really subdued - not that they weren't good but it lacked the lively atmosphere of the good old days. The food nonetheless was really good and you can't go... More

I absolutely hate to write reviews like this but I visited this place sat night to celebrate my sisters 50th birthday. 12 of us got together from all over the country and some from overseas. We booked many weeks in advance advising them of the special occasion. When we arrived our table was not ready. There was no space for... More

We fell through the door as pure opportunists having been at a meeting and really only half expected there to be any availability. We struck lucky. Typical Italian ...noisey and busy and lots of atmosphere. Service was prompt and friendly. Staying down the road at the Hotel Millelium so this was a very convenient spot. Great food and lots of... This charming, warm and buzzing Italian restaurant was ideal for a small family lunch on a quiet Sunday. We ordered Prosecco for three as we reviewed the menu. But only two were delivered. So another came along a little later. We'd made our choices by the time a waiter came to rake our orders and also tell us about the... More

We finally got here for my birthday lunch, dye in , September, despite, yet again, the best efforts of Thameslink to cock up our journey into London. The lunch set menu was not only a bargain but we actually felt we had a choice of foods we would love to eat rather than the horrible stuff so many restaurants offer eg... More

If you want a good authentic Italian meal, don't miss Sale e Pepe. We had a delicious lunch with a carpaccio of octopus, penne arrabbiata and sauteed liver and sorbet. The service was very good even though the place was packed. Will definitely go back.
