We wanted a decent breakfast in unpretentious surroundings with good service and great value and that's what we got today - I had the kippers with sourdough toast, Ann had the perfect bacon sandwich with homemade tomato ketchup and lily a fried egg (off menu)...More

Went for breakfast. Toast bread was burned, asked to change it and after 5 min they brought me exactly the same slices, one of them cutted where totally black. Waiteress didn't say anything. When I paid, complaining, she told me that for the kitchen the...More

I've been to St Johns in Maltby St many times and more recently visited at St. John's Bread and Wine next to Spitalfields. I personally love this place even though I'm not a meat eater. There are always fish and veggie options and the St....More

Used to love St John but this branch in Commercial Street has gone downhill. Hadn't been there for a year or so, because the manager was so patronising last time. Was hoping he had gone. No such luck! It was Sunday around 1pm. The place...More

This was the single most terrible lunch we have ever experienced and we have eaten across the globe and paid a lot for it too. The food was awful...the braised squid was swimming in huge amounts of an oily substance, the mackerel too smothered in...More

Not my favourite wine bar / restaurant though if you're a carnivore this might suit you. Good choice of wines though somewhat on the expensive side.

Returning customer - I usually come here for the doughnuts and brownies takeaway as my friends love it. The food is good but the short hair lady's attitude over the counter was a bit rude today.

As per the title, if you like good Bacon Sandwiches this if your place. truly mesmerising especially with the home made tomato ketchup. As well as this the artisan home made breads and fresh coffee are delicious

My birthday treat- such a stylish place- food is understated but delicious. The beer they have on tap is the best lager I have ever tasted!

For a glimpse of Georgian and Victorian London at its
most pristine, or a peek into what's apt to be the
next big global trend, the hipster zone of
Spitalfields can provide hours of amazement. Around
the clock, this is a haven for early morning bargain
hunters sizing up its street markets, foodie foragers
throughout the day, or late night revelers hitting
some of London's most popular bars and clubs.

Well, it is London... you can and should come as you are, really. But, make an effort. As you would when dining out. This place is casual though, not super-posh. And it is in East London, meaning, you probably wouldn't look... More
