Love the smell of garlic wine and candle wax. It's cosy, warm, and sexy. Gorgeously decadent food with lashings of butter, cream, garlic and Joie de Vivre

I love the Boudin Blanc. It is a little piece of France in Shepherd Market. The food is all about classic French dishes cooked well. For anyone who is bored with being forced to have the Chef's precious tasting menu or something being cooked three ways, this is the perfect antidote. The staff are fantastic and the building itself, very... More

Super restaurant tucked away in Shepherd's market between Piccadilly and Mayfair. There are several very expensive places in the area but this one provides quality and service without breaking the bank. It's very French: French serving staff and an extensive list of French wines. We tend to drink mainly new world wines but I told the wine waiter what grapes... More

Amazing food. Professional service. Quick turnaround. Relaxed atmosphere. Varied food selection. No reason not to give this place it's well deserved 5 stars.

I don’t usually give out 5 starts but in this instance I can’t think of something I didn’t like. The staff was welcoming and very professional, the food was amazing (I’m still thinking about it a couple of days later) and quick to arrive, the atmosphere was relaxing and the price, though high, was appropriate for the quality of the... Liked this place so much we went back the next night. Had a big meal with two courses, sides and dessert the first time, second night just had onion soup and a small crab appetiser. Service excellent both nights, they welcomed us warmly even after we explained that we weren't all that hungry. Price reasonable for the top quality Dover... More

During a weekend stay in central London took wifey to her favourite restaurant in Shepherds Market. Booked a table for 2 at 8.30pm on a Saturday expecting it to be busy, Ate there a couple of times before and really enjoyed the food but knew it could get busy and noisy, We arrived early and they took us to our... Been here on and off for 15 years. Never had a bad experience. Always consistently excellent. Old school restaurant. Best place in london to lose an afternoon. Food excellent, Professional and friendly staff (French as well, who knew!). Sommelier picks the perfect wine without breaking your wallet. Will be back for the private dining room. X

It looks as though this is an attempt to recreate Paris in London. Very cosy (no room to swing any kind of feline) and noisy, but this seems to be the norm in central London. Plenty of French atmosphere, but alas nothing special beyond that. Most disappointing of all was the risotto as the only vegetarian option and nothing vegan.... More

Staying in Mayfair

Neighbourhood Profile
Mayfair
Set beside some of London's best parks and home to world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic streets will reveal that Michelin stars and chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even if you're on a tight budget, this exceptionally well connected swath of Central London is worth exploring, if only for the chance to take a peak at the goings on of upper crust English society.
