Went here with a friend and had heard good things about this place. It's certainly high end place near St James Street. The food was good, especially the salads (4 types of sea weed, and sesame spinach), the sushi and pot rice. The best was the sushi by far and the salad. A bit pricey for the food, but when... More

Just called in for cocktails before an evening event somewhere else. Service was quick and the drinks were very pleasant. seating was not so comfortable and would not have wanted to stay for another drink. The setting was also a little dull.

Its on the expensive side but compared to similar places in central London the prices seem quite reasonable! Its not your traditional Japanese place so don't go here looking for the authentic Japanese experience. Its not the most intimate setting as tables are bunched close together, but It does ooze a great deal or Urban Chic. Probably better for a... More

We went for the 7 course menu with champagne and cocktail include and were so inpressed! Beautiful interior, attentive down to earth staff and most importantly extremely tasty food and cocktails like we have never tried before. Would love to visit again! Some of the best food we've experienced in london, left with big smiles on our faces!

Been to the restaurant reading reviews and expected to have very relaxed welcoming atmosphere. Waiters are formal and do not have clear agreements who serves the table nor did they give clear help for menu or food served, waiter was not speaking clear English. Food prepared was original and very tasty, the kitchen gets a big plus. Quantity of food... More

I came here for dinner on a Friday evening and had an excellent time! We ordered the tasting menu and everything was delicious (I'm not a dessert person but loved the matcha panna cotta)! As if the food and decor of the place wasn't great enough, the service was fantastic - Our waitress was super friendly and so attentive. Another... More

My boyfriend took me here for our anniversary dinner. We had the Saturday lunch deal - we were given a very generous half bottle of champagne (pretty sure it was a whole bottle!) The cocktails were lovely and there was so much food. If there is 2 of you - get the steak! The service was excellent and when I... More

This is one of these pretentious London places which serve OK food in a nice ambience, but with a poor service devoid of any personal touch. We've ordered a larger tasting menu + a matching drinks flight, both of which were very good and nicely presented. It was all starting well, with our waitress Stefania being very attentive and friendly.... More

It was Friday night and I was craving sushi after "touristing" all day, and Sake No Hana was on the walk back to the hotel. I arrived about an hour before the restaurant opened and enjoyed a couple of gin and tonics as the sole bar customer, chatting with the friendly bar staff till opening. The environment is dim and... Description
Sake no Hana bar and restaurant is housed on the first floor of a modernist Grade II listed building in the heart of St James, offering modern Japanese dining. The a la carte menu provides a variety of hot and cold appetisers, charcoal grill, Toban and Kamameshi dishes, while sushi and sashimi are... prepared to order at the 13 seat sushi bar. A carefully selected list of sakes, Japanese whiskeys and other wines, spirits and liqueurs complement the dishes offered in the restaurant. Sake no Hana's interiors were designed my esteemed architect Kengo Kuma and the bar includes a beautiful futuristic chandelier, offering the perfect space for post work cocktails.

The bar is also a beautiful space for private parties of up to 60 guests for a standing canape event, or can host up to 25 guests seated for an exclusive private dining experience. Monday to Thursday, 12pm - 2.45pm, 6pm - 11pm; Friday, 12pm - 2.45pm, 6pm - 11.30pm, Saturday 12pm - 4pm, 6pm - 11.30pm

Staying in St. James's

Neighbourhood Profile
St. James's
Perennially fashionable since the days of Henry VIII, the aristocratic “Clubland” of St James's is a premier destination for high end craft and bespoke design. Here you’ll lose count of the Royal Warrants (which indicate that the Royal Family patronizes the establishment) seen in shop front windows, even during a short stroll to bordering Green Park or St James’s Park. With the brightly lit and constantly buzzing junction of Piccadilly Circus at its northeast corner and none of Central London too far away, this is an surprisingly central and accessible part of town, especially given its prosperous demeanor.
