I knew this place already and I was pleased to come back. The bespoke English menu is amazing and we have been treated very well by the staff. Keep it up!

Had lunch here last week with my Colleague. The staff are always attentive and cheerful and nothing is ever too much. The burgers are great and cooked to how you want them. Great wine and cocktails too. Menu is non fussy and varied with good prices. Always a joy!

The staff here are incredible and very friendly and polite on arrival. The food is excellent and they offered a wide choice at lunchtime for a reasonable price. The scallops were particularly stand out.

i have been there 3 times so far with friends - a best place to turn up at 1, 2am when everything is closed in downtown London. Descent wine choice and finger food. Red curry was delicious

We had eggs Benedict, lattes and fruit juice for two on a lazy Sunday morning. It was cooked to perfection and the service was great. We paid £32 and wouldn't hesitate to go back. Recommended.

My girlfriend and I were looking for a burger one lunchtime. Rather than go to trusty Byron or Honest, we thought we would try somewhere different. The service was good, nice and relaxing and the burger was awesome! Glad we came

I've come here on and off for the past 15+ years. It's undergone a number of renovations, but essentially retains that sense of the local gay restaurant to be seen in. This is a good thing. Many of the staff are gay, and enjoy a laugh with the punters. The food is good, as is the wine. Tables are a... More

Been here many times over the years. Always a reliable spot for a good meal, nice drinks and a social atmosphere. Conveniently located in Soho, this is a great go-to location for dinner as well as brunch and breakfast. Dinner menu was new since I last had dinner there - great selection of appetizers and entrees. They made some tasty... More

Came here with my sister for brunch. Used to visit a lot but have not been for quite a while. Staff were polite and friendly and I can't fault them at all, but the food did not impress. I had the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs (£9) which was nice, but the toast which came with it was not toasted... More

Not for the fainthearted, Balans Soho Society is a place to indulge. Enjoy breakfast, lunch, dinner and after-dark activities in the company of fellow bon vivants. It's a café, a restaurant, a bar, a member's establishment and definitely a place where rules are made to be broken. And it's all done in the spirit of Soho - the iconic corner of London that has always acted as a refuge for outsiders: minorities, eccentrics, bohemians, dreamers...people drawn together by a shared conviction that normal rules don't apply to them. A place to go when you feel like doing things you probably shouldn't. We are Balans Soho Society and we live by the philosophy that too much of a good thing is a GOOD THING, the best plan is NO PLAN and that the pursuit of pleasure is a noble one. Even if the pleasure itself might not be. Let us banish the jobsworth, the wet blanket, the killjoy. Those who are easily shocked should be shocked more often. LET CURTAINS TWITCH. All hail the rogue, the rascal and the reprobate. We have a way of dealing with outsiders: INVITE THEM IN for a drink.

Staying in Soho

Neighbourhood Profile
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighbourhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
