I just had my dinner at this "authentic" south Indian restaurant. Overall, it was a really bad experience based on the following points: 1. The food portion/taste were not up to standard. It was not authentic enough even though the lamb biryani/roti were okay. 2. The prices in the menu is not the same as it is online. 3. The... More

This place was ok, quite small inside and food portion wise for what you pay but it was OK. They don't serve alcohol however you can bring your own drinks, the staff are nice and we didn't wait long for out food. Again, it was just ok.

Relaxed, unassuming and intimate restaurant. Lovely atmosphere and great food. Some really surprising dishes - A simple menu, but with tastes and flavours that I'd not come across before.

We found this little Gem near Borough station recently but absolutely love it. We have eating Indian food in many places around the world but this is probably really our favorite because of many factors actually: 1) Very cosy small and actually elegant restaurant, very romantic as well 2) Very clean, no cooking smells (like we usually know from Indian... Always good to return to Simply Indian after many years and find ti hasn't lost its charm. Food still very tasty (although more expensive than before) and menus looking a bit tatty, with handwritten prices. Still, I suppose that they've got a winning formula so why change it? As they don't serve alcohol, beers were procured from The Royal Oak... More

Simply indian is a very nice restaurant on a quiet street. The food is delicious and the service is friendly. I just do not give them 5 stars because they do not sell alcohol. I would have liked to enjoy an indian beer with my spicy food.

We went to this tiny restaurant at Borough for the third time. We were again impressed with the delicious food and the reasonable prices. We like their bring your own alcohol policy. The staff were polite and helpful.

The enticing descriptions of the meals on the menu, and the convenience of takeaway delivery, made Simply Indian a simple choice for last night's culinary requirements. We embraced the speedy delivery only for our early concerns to be confirmed; that we should be duly suspicious at an Indian meal being prepped, cooked and delivered within 25 minutes. The result of... More

Really friendly service. Good for vegetarians. Not your usual curry house. Excellent. Try the Chana and the cauliflower

An intimate South Indian restaurant very close to Borough market in #London, where you can BYO wine and beer and not pay any corkage fee. Freshly sourced produce delivered daily. A delivery service s also available.Recently rated as top 3 Indian Restaurant in Lambeth by ThreeBestRated UK. Very busy little retaurant so always advisable to book in advance. Party menu also available for celebration bookings.

Staying in Southwark

Neighbourhood Profile
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighbourhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
