Several years ago we used to eat in this restaurant and receive takeaways. We received a few that we wished we hadn't so looked elsewhere. About a year ago we tried using their takeaway service again and the difference is remarkable. I'm lucky enough to have eaten at some of the more famous London Indian restaurants and the dishes that... More

I have only ordered a take away from this place and its been consistently excellent. Their malai lamb chops are superb and very different to the lamb chops you get at other Indian restaurants. Excellent curry dishes as well.

We found this place right in our neighborhood. It's a good place for a quick meal. The food was made quite fast and it was delicious too. The service was very kind, the value for money is good and the variety of dishes was also good!

We found this place by searching on trip advisor on the near you now option. After reading the reviews we saw that you could bring your own wine - and it was New Year's Day and nothing was really opened. We reserved through trip advisor and grabbed a bottle of wine on our walk over. What an amazing experience!!!!! Everything... More

We booked for a post Xmas shopping early dinner. Our first time at Simply Indian and it certainly won't be the last. Do try the poppadoms with homemade tomato chilli salsa. An interesting menu with everything freshly prepared. We tend to go locally for our a Indian 'fix' - Tooting! This is a great contender for our affections.

We live in the neighbourhood, reserved for lunch and ended up paying "Christmas prices" for a special menu with no option to order a la carte -- i.e., £24.95 for starter and main -- the food was OK but nothing great -- the "Christmas special" included a small main, small rice, bread and vegetable, i.e., a £25 thali that should... The menu was dirty, it looked like it had been printed in the 80's. I had tiny whitebait which was ok. Then okra and cauliflower sides with chicken main. They guy was obviously rushing me as he bought the main while I was tucking into the starter. The okra side was 80% onions, this is not normal or authentic its... More

I just had my dinner at this "authentic" south Indian restaurant. Overall, it was a really bad experience based on the following points: 1. The food portion/taste were not up to standard. It was not authentic enough even though the lamb biryani/roti were okay. 2. The prices in the menu is not the same as it is online. 3. The... More

This place was ok, quite small inside and food portion wise for what you pay but it was OK. They don't serve alcohol however you can bring your own drinks, the staff are nice and we didn't wait long for out food. Again, it was just ok.

Staying in Southwark

Neighbourhood Profile
Southwark
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighbourhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
