Checked on Internet came up as dog friendly was in York for a few days so we thought we would give it a try also had an advert for afternoon tea perfect
I went in 1st to check at the desk about our dog and...was told he was very welcome in the antiques centre and the cafe as well.
Went upstairs to the cafe 1st thing we saw was a sign saying cafe closed asked the girl who took the sign down saying it should not be there fine cafe had a few empty tables so asked where she wanted us to sit was told she would have to ask her boss as we had a dog (he's only small). She came back and told us even though there where tables they were too full to allow a dog
So not dog friendly more dog when they feel like itMore
Although we had a nice welcome from the young lady making coffees, the other lady in the kitchen who was serving the food was rude and abrupt, dumping our food on the table and we felt a but of an inconvenience to her. Won't be...going again, food was average and £10 for 4 glasses of orange is crazy!More
We literally stumbled upon this lovely tea room, upstairs from a vintage shop!
I can highly recommend it!
Lovely gluten free menu, so relaxing.
I had GF tuna and mozzarella panini that came side salad and a hot chocolate, the hubby had the all day...breakfast and cappuccino and it came to just short of £20.
They also do afternoon tea!More
We used to enjoy coming here but today was really disappointing. The table and cutlery didn't look or feel clean. The coffee was swimming with grains and also the outsides of the cups. The coffee was nice and the food was fine. It all just...felt a bit slapdash. When the waitress asked was everything alright I know I should have said something but I couldn't be bothered getting into a dispute or at least an uncomfortable situation. It would be better if it all returned to its usual standard.More

I’m really sorry you’ve had this experience iv prided Mollys for many years on its cleanliness and fresh home cooked food and it makes me sad to read something like this and can only apologise. We’re in the process of training new staff and I...More
Great little hidden tea shop in York city centre. We came here for some tea and cake as we were tired from walking around the city. Good value for money and excellent customer service.
Lovely fresh cakes as shown in photos
What a gem in the middle of York. Very tasty veggie breakfast, with Heinz beans and HP sauce, not cheap substitutes. Our waitress Abby was friendly and thorough, a credit to the business. Half the price of Betty's too!
Molly's vintage tearoom is on the 1st floor and the vintage fashion showcase shop ( above the antique York shop No 41).
We love and look for a tearoom like these. It is hidden but worth the visit.
Samantha, our waitress, had a big lovely...smile. Alone it will welcome you again and again.
Lovely homemade sandwiches, paninis, omelette, toasties, jacket potatoes. They also have Molly's special sandwich /panini, cake and drink. Or you can enjoy vintage afternoon tea. They also offer gluten bread.
Would recommend and certainly will have no hesitation to come back. More
We went to Molly's Tearooms for lunch one Saturday. York was packed and it was a bit hard to find because of all the people milling about, but we were glad we made the effort. We decided on jacket potatoes with creamed mushrooms and the...lady apologised and said they only had one potato left, but offered us the mushrooms with toast instead. She said the mushrooms came in a separate dish so the toast wouldn’t get soggy. Our meal arrived very quickly and we shared the toast and potato. The mushrooms were absolutely delicious and plenty of them. Very pleasant staff and a lovely little tearoom. We recommended the place to our next-door neighbours who went two days ago and they also thought it was great. We’ll be back!More
