For years now, Pig and Pasty has constantly been recommended to me by friends and family that live in York. After getting a table for myself and my parents, we asked if we could have the table cleaned. The guy working there came over and...More

We ate here after our son's graduation ceremony at York Uni and are so pleased that we did. None of us fancied the option of brunch in a regular chain restaurant (the food is always so boring/bland and service is typically similar) and we're so...More

Popped in for brekkie and was not disappointed. Liked the rustic seating and the staff were friendly. Had eggs benedict and a waffle and fruit dish. Both were delicious. Coffee was good. Prices were fair. Nice alternative to a chain restaurant. Give it a visit.

A local recommended this place to us, we weren't diss appointed! They have gluten free options, the coffee is amazing, and the food was simply splendid. If you're looking for a typical English place to have breakfast, this is your place.

We're just a little family run local cafe
We're only small, but if you don't mind sharing a table, there's room for everyone
We don't have table service and we don't have paper menus. (our menus are written up on the wall and they change regularly)
The kitchen closes at 3pm, but you can still get coffee and cake after this time
We are not part of a chain, there is no CEO creaming off the profits.
We are just a little cafe doing our best, with the best ingredients we can get our hands on
