we arranged to meet friends here on August 12th, only to find that is has closed and there is an Estate Agent's "For Sale" sign in the front. We went to the Agar Arms in the next village, and that was fine.

A very cosy warm and friendly pub, Defiantly a must try. My husband and I both had the Lamb shank sheperds pie, It was amazing! My Husband doesnt normally have a pudding but couldnt resist with a good old apple pie and custard. He was not disapointed. Its great to see the old classics on the menu. Booked again for... More

With ample parking and a large dining area this traditional pub looks inviting. Very quiet on the night we visited. Reasonable choices on the menu, house specials and large portions of homemade food. The quality was exceptional high and the friendly service rounded off the evening We will be back to try the Sunday menu

We visited the Bay Horse Inn on a Saturday night it was a little quieter than we expected but the lovely resident dog kept us entertained. Great food and service, would definitely recommend and will be back.

Me and my son stopped off while riding back to Leeds from Beverley, for some well earned re-fuelling. It is only 50 yards off the route, so very convenient for cyclists. It was quiet for a Sunday lunchtime, but we got a friendly greeting. I had the full Sunday lunch which was excellent, washed down with a nice pint. My... More

When we arrived on a Friday evening the pub was virtually empty. The fish and chips should have been labelled 'batter and chips' as there was a distinct lack of fish. A teaspoon sized portion of mushy peas seemed a bit penny pinching. The chicken pie was marginally better but the best meal was the burger. Only three out of... More

Ordered food and sat to wait looking through dirty windows with the remnants of Christmas snow scenes onto dead hang baskets. The sign outside was ten days out of date advertising the Tour de Yorkshire bike race. Food came we were the only ones eating at that time. Fantastic onion rings tasty home made burgers and well cooked chips. Loved... More

This was our first and last visit! Our table, surroundings and cuttlery were dirty which didn't bode well for the food. A man brought our food, scowled and didn't say a word! We ordered chicken pie with veg. The chicken and sauce tasted foisty and our pastry top was hard and burnt. We couldn't identify all the veg which was... More
