Average food, not authentic Italian at all. My wife and I have been to Italy several times and the owner/ chef clearly has not. Fish was not fresh despite being advertised as so. When asked if fresh was told “fresh from frozen” whatever that means....Both dishes had some sort of oil tossed all over it which Italians do not do! It makes it greasy and slimy. Pasta not fresh and tasted like from Aldi. Desserts also frozen. Wine average and over priced. Whole experience was rushed and felt packed in like sardines. Felt a bit robbed for non Italian style food. Won’t be going back.More

Delicious food, fantastic service, and good value for money. The food was tasty, fresh, and nicely presented, and the staff were welcoming, happy, and polite. What a Lovely restaurant!

Food was ok nothing special, the chef/owner was extremley rude told us to finish up because he had other people waiting for the table despite us not even having received our deserts, our table had been booked a month prior , then a confirmation phone...call 2 days before our visit, when we arrived our table was not ready & they clearly had not recorded our booking properly Will not be going backMore

My partner and I stumbled across this cafe, right next to the Queensway tube station. We were hungover and week without expectations and this place remedied our woolly heads. Great service (we weren’t easy customers) great fresh orange juice, amazing smoothie and good food. Highly...recommendMore

As usual our evening was faultless, excellent food & presentation, great service and a buzzing ambiance. Starters, mains and the tirimisu sweet were absolutely delicious.

Impossible to find anywhere to eat in York in late July! Lo Spuntino was close to our hotel, so we ate there both evenings. The food was tasty (rather small portions) and the wine good and the two young waitresses were lovely. The older waiter...cordial but not really interested in us and the chef (owner?) was rude. We had the same experience as a previous reviewer - arriving well within the Menu Espresso time, but were told we could not take advantage of all that was advertised on the board outside. When I queried this with the chef, he turned his back on me and wouldn't answer! The place was very busy, not great social distancing and we were not encouraged to hang around as the tables were booked all evening.More

We ordered from the expresso menu (2 courses for £13.95). We thought it was quite a good deal and settled down with our drinks. After 10 minutes, our waiter told us the ‘chef’ didn’t do expresso menu tonight and informed us that we would be...charged fully for our choices. We were not given the chance to amend or upgrade our selection. To avoid making a fuss, we simply nodded then halfway through our starters we were asked if we were ready for our mains. We felt rushed and unwelcome, especially as our waiter kept laughing and chatting with everybody else but us. The bill came and we were charged over £6 for a child’s one ice cream scoop! When we challenged it, it turned our our waiter just had charged us for 3 ‘sweets’ regardless of the child’s portion! We had gone to Valentinos next door the night before and just wished we had gone back there! Unless you are a local, I would not recommend going there - the food was average and the service was poor.More
