We went to buy a jar of Huffkin's jam and stayed for afternoon tea which was delicious. They offer a range of specialty tea and home made cakes, all of which are very tempting.

This was our first visit, both to Huffkins and to Burford, but we were with friends who had been before. They had been 'talking it up' during the morning, which is always a risky activity. However, in this case their confidence was well founded. What a delightful place to have lunch. Good, friendly, helpful service, despite being really busy (always... More

We are reasonably regular visitors to this busy tearoom and had a late lunch on 2/12/16. All the food was good and the service fine. I am a fan of the all day breakfast at Huffkins but I just got a slight sense that the portion size had been reduced from my previous visits. No bad thing for the waistline... More

We always go to Huffkins on our way north ...(either there or the one in Stow on the Wold) it never disappoints, whether its coffee, lunch or tea.

We went to the one in Burford for lunch. On the whole the food was pretty good. They do seem to have a problem with warming things up though. I ordered macaroni cheese and found it was cold, it still tasted ok though, I let the waitress know and I got a new one that was nice and hot. My... More

We arrived at 2.30pm and was seated fairly quickly. We were rushed asking to order having been asked first before we had even taken our coats off, and repeatedly after that. Food then took far too long to arrive and when it did it wasn't great - not exactly what was ordered and overcooked. Getting any attention from a waitress... More

Popped in with my partner for a light snack. Had a sharing platter which was well priced and very filling. Managed to fit in a dessert and both thoroughly enjoyed. Service was very warming, and seemed a very popular restaurant. Nice to read that everything is homemade and from local produce. All in all would highly recommend.

We visited the chain in Burford and Stow on the Wold...great food and lovely staff. It's a really welcoming place...you may have to wait for a table, but it's worth it.

Huffkins is a bit unusual. We are an independent family business with our own craft bakery and a heritage that stretches back to 1890. Established in Burford, at the heart of the Cotswolds, by Mr Titcombe our breads and cakes were originally delivered by donkey and cart. Given the impracticalities of donkeys we have modernised some things over the years - but we still bake everything by hand. Our bakers work through the night to create everything from the bread for our sandwiches to the fresh cream cakes in our shops. We believe very firmly in sourcing ingredients locally wherever possible. Now whilst there is clearly not an abundance of tuna fish in the local rivers there are surprisingly few things that do not grow in the Cotswolds. And when we do grow something it tends to be good. Very good in fact. Our chefs take a keen interest in every ingredient that enters our kitchens from field to plate. So when, for instance, you ask for a sausage bap at Huffkins you can expect Cotswold pork sausages made by WJ Castles of Burford to our own traditional recipe in a handmade bap from our bakery made with FWP Matthew's flour from Shipton under Wychwood, served with Huffkins spicy tomato ketchup made at our own kitchen in Stow-on-the-Wold. We believe in real Cotswold food. Even our teas, which we buy directly from the finest small producers around the world are blended with local ingredients including Cotswold fruits and lavender from Snowshill near Broadway. The only thing we cannot get to grow locally is good staff - so regrettably you are stuck with whatever we could find. Many have been with us an awfully long time. Too long perhaps. Yet all jokes apart many of the team hold awards for 3, 5, 10 and even 15 years of service. Just look out for coloured lapel pins if you fancy spotting the old-timers.
