Both evening meals and breakfast were first class. Would happily go back again. Lovely setting and great service.

Haven't been for a while and won't be rushing back. Food choices poor not very inspiring menu fish and chips lack luster, pudding ok but rich and not very inspiring .... got asked to leave our table for evening service which we did by ourselves they were not busy. Despite moving the Resturant remained empty, when we left still only... More

Went for lunch today, six of us old college friends. There was no vegetarian option despite my friend who booked the restaurant being told they could do things - we were told that you had to order the dish in advance - you need a menu to order from! Our meal was lukewarm and very expensive for what it was.... More

Met here with my brother and his wife for a Sunday lunch We all had different roast dinners which were very nice, with a few sharing dishes to start, the waiter advised we may need three or four of these between the 4 of us. We ordered double that and I'm glad we did otherwise we would have been very... More

We stayed Sunday night on our way home from a family reunion. We stayed in room 5 which was amazing - it's the original landlords room in the ancient inn. The access is behind the bar, up an old winding wooden staircase (probably not the best for the infirm). Warm cosy welcoming room on a cold November evening. Huge bedroom... More

Situated in the quiet and unpretentious village of Cumnor the Bear and Ragged Staff initially looks more like a large house than a pub. Inside though it is a fusion of contemporary design and 16th Century charm with its wooden beams and old pub feel at the front and a open modern restaurant with some bright abstract art at the... I went for Sunday lunch on the 13/12/16. I have not been here for years and the standard of food has not changed. The meal was very good and great value. The decor does let the place down. There are cables tacked to walls, a crack in the joist and repairs to the ceiling. The real problem is the men's... More

Stayed in this pub this week and will definitely be returning in December. Very comfortable room, friendly and efficient staff and great food - especially the puddings! How refreshing to stay in an establishment that is not part of a large chain and to get such brilliant service.

We stayed for 3 nights at this lovely 16th. century inn. It was convenient for driving to the Park and Ride into Oxford. The staff were extremely friendly, the food in the restaurant outstanding and I can only say that we were sorry the room did not come up to that level. Our room was not cleaned on the first day...
