Thai restaurants can be a little formal but not this one! Hidden at the back of a traditional pub this place has a relaxed atmosphere. The service was excellent and the food fresh, hot (temperature) and very tasty. Also, very good value - 2 starters,...More

My friend and I came on a week day evening, the restaurant was pretty dead. After being seated, it took about 15 minutes before we had to try and catch the two barmen/waiters attention who were chatting behind the bar all night. We finally ordered,...More

Curious place, with the front bar usually full of locals, some of them drunk, some of them smelly, some of them brawling from time to time. Cosy back room and lovely beer garden. They don´t care much for Real Ale, but the atmosphere is really...More

The pub located opposite Christ Church college serves decent Thai food. The place was bustling with locals and visitors but the staff promptly and efficiently managed to get us seated. The fare was standard Thai and good value. Would recommend.

Love this place, and regularly go for a pint of Abbot and no. 21 with chicken. Awesome staff and character. Some of the reviews are a bit mean - it's more of a 'local' pub than others in Oxford, and perhaps less tidy at times...More

This was a pleasant surprise for me. We'd just flown in for a wedding weekend and arranged to meet a few friends here in this "pub" for a drink. They'd arrived earlier in the day, meanwhile I didn't have breakfast or lunch and was famished....More

I went in there late afternoon/early evening on a Saturday, with a group of 17 people. The service provided to such a large group, all asking for food, with no prior booking can not be faulted. The food and drinks came quickly and was also...More

This pub in the centre of Oxford is notable for several reasons.Firstly it is named after the famous bell of Christchurch Cathedral and college over the road, an iconic Oxford landmark. Secondly it has a pleasant beer garden and well kept ales. Thirdly, it serves...More

Originally from UK but have lived in Australia for the past 27 years. We visit UK frequently and travel quite extensively. Have to say that this is the WORST pub I have ever been in. Walked in to the dull weird entrance to find what...More

A literal stone's throw from Carfax, the crossroads that marks the centre of the city of Oxford, Old Tom has provided a welcome watering hole for Oxford's town and gown since at least the end of the 17th century. In its three or so centuries of history, Old Tom has enjoyed many faces. Today it is a unique experience that perfectly combines old world English pub sensibilities with the very best in Thai cuisine. Old Tom is sister restaurant to the highly successful Monkey and Me in London's Marylebone. Both restaurants serve delicious Thai food that stays true to its Eastern origin. We source only the best and freshest spices, pastes, vegetables and herbs direct from Thailand, through our partners Thaitana. This way we know that all our dishes are made with the finest quality Thai ingredients to match our fine range of Green King ales. A surprisingly perfect combination.
