My friend and I were intending to eat at Elhams a few doors away but found it closed. So we needed somewhere else close by to "dive into". We usually check reviews of our intended eateries but on this occasion we took pot luck! The interior and ambience were immediately pleasing and relaxing. We went for the fixed pre-theatre menu.... My wife and I had the Theatre Menu, priced at £12.50 but you need to book and order before 7.00 pm. Considering the excellent service and the quality of the food, it was great value for money. The starter; carrots and celery soup and the main; a vegetarian tagine were absolutely delicious. The couscous was beautifully prepared, but the tagine... More

With family all around the country a family lunch for 17 was planned for the Christmas/New Year period somewhere in the Oxford area as the most central point. The restaurant closed was Pierre Victoire. Not been there before but recommended by my brother (to be truthful not sure if he had been there either). When we arrived the place was... More

The restaurant was busy when a group of us visited at lunchtime. Most people in our group were eating from the Prix Fixe Menu, availability during the daytime on weekdays. The prices are reasonable, and easy to follow - £3 for a starter, £8.50 for a main course and £3 for a dessert. You can chose a special, which is... More

You should be impressed of you enjoy proper French cooking as this place is the real thing. I have been here many times. It is very popular so it can be a little noisy. Best to book a table.

I've been to Pierre Victoire 4/5 times, the food is always top quality and filling without being over priced! The atmosphere and service is always great... without doubt one of my favourite places to eat in oxford! I took my boss for the first time at Christmas and she had sea bass which she loved and she told me she's... More

We happened across this lovely treasure of Oxford by chance, just at lunch time. The staff were French, always a good sign, and the food turned out to be classically French and delicious, and excellent value. It's worth a stroll out from the City Centre, past the wonderful Ashmolean Museum, to find Pierre Victoire.

We were staying in Oxford for the evening and pre booked this a few hours before having googled it. Overall we were very happy. The venue is typically french, with candlelight and french staff. The food was excellent, fresh and full of flavour. A classic french menu with a great atmosphere. Perfect for couples or a group of friends.

This restaurant is owned and run by a French family, and the standard of cooking is so good, you think you are in France. We went for the New Years Eve dinner. We started with pan seared scallops with a leek fondue. Delicious. I then had the Onion Soup, and my wife had the Red and Golden Beetroot soup. Both... More
