I took my daughter for a farewell afternoon tea and chose the version with a glass of wine. The sandwiches were delicious and full of filling, very moist. The waitress was understanding on our request for vegetarian option. The tea was hot and delicious albeit...More

I went to this cafe at around 3 pm, perhaps before the peak of the afternoon tea time and after lunch. It was almost full when I arrived, but did not seem frantically busy. My daughter and I ordered tea and a blackcurrant - violet...More

When I heard that this coffee shop was opened in 1650, had to visit it for breakfast. We got there just as they opened so it was quiet but it filled up quite fast afterwards. Breakfast was great with quite a decent range. Service was...More

The food was fine but we were charged twice for the wine. Didn't realise at the time but when I went back the manager didn't want to know and was rude. Steer clear.

I had the peach tea which was excellent and something different however the waitress took quite a while bringing food and drinks then didn't bring our change when we paid our bill. When we proceeded to ask for change she complained to a coworker and...More

Lovely High Tea. This was my third visit. Quality food and friendly staff. My favourite tea place in Oxford!

A fantastic start to our visit to Oxford. Great service. Lovely surroundings. The Old Government Java coffee was delicious and waffle/honey/ice cream made a perfect mid morning snack.

Very friendly greeting - tables were being cleared and we were told we'd be seated as soon as one near the door was ready which took just a couple of minutes. I was chuffed to see a gluten free cake option! The chocolate larieux was...More

The Grand Cafe is a superb little cafe, with the emphasis on little. Because it serves good food and drinks and is popular for cream teas it does get rather full very quickly so be prepared to wait in line.

Dogs are not allowed in the Grand Cafe. It's not that big and tables are close together. However, there is a lovely cafe in Bath, should you visit there called Cafe Luca and they certainly do allow dogs but then it's a... More
