Wide ranging menu, but not everything was available on a Saturday evening. Good scallop, black pudding & parmesan starter followed by excellent calve's liver with crispy bacon and mash- not an easy thing to get right. For pudding I had a 'banoffee sundae' that was quite good. A surprisingly good and reasonably priced wine list - the Rothschild Pinot Noir... More

Lovely location and you need to know where this is. Serves bar food, tapas and the usual favourites and also has a restaurant which seems to be popular on the week-ends, not very busy at all during the Mon to Thurs evenings. The place is up for sale and seems to have been let go by the owners, certainly never... More

My Skate Wing was delicious, very thick (1.5 ins/2 cm) on a bed of wilted spinach and celeriac, covered with a topping of capers. Very succulent. Delcious. My wife enjoyed her lamb. Good service. Argentinian Vognier was good value and flavoursome.

Have enjoyed dinner here on a Sunday evening (booking advisable) and I can only say that we will return as it was absolutely delicious. Veggie options were given by the chef so no having to choose from a boring selection, often the case. As for dessert, wow, have spoken about it often since that evening. Cosy traditional feel to surroundings... More

We visited on our day of moving into the village as we had no food at home! The menu is extensive with lots of fish and meats to choose from. Good country pub with excellent wine list.

Lovely little pub in Berkshire off the beaten track which is decorated very tastefully and has a lovely ambience. The staff are friendly and attentive. Food was very good (pricey for what it is) and portion sizes were just right. A very extensive menu but mainly fish with only 3 meat choices (one of which had sold out). I always... More
