Staff were very friendly and attended to us quickly. Food was really nice and there were unique items on the menu as well as the traditional pub grub. There are games for you to play which provides a relaxed country atmosphere. Would defiantly recommend!

Our visit here was lovely, food was good quality and arrived quickly after ordering. Presentation of food was superb. The chocolate brownie with hazelnut ice-cream was absolutely delicious! The only negative point was the state of the women's toilets. 3/5 toilets were blocked and in a pretty disgusting state. However, the barmaid was made aware of this straight away and... More

Just on the fringes of town the Abbot is worth a visit. I popped in for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. A very interesting selection of Beers and ales but considering it's location a little pricey, £3.75 for a pint of Purity Gold & £7.75 for a Chicken Club sandwich. If this was located in town I would say very... More

God I wish there were pubs like this were I live. Alas there isn't Coventry people could cope with a quality craft beer led pub. This place is great. The food looked great and was very popular. The drinks range was fantastic

Stopped in with friends for a Sunday roast; unfortunately by the time we arrived, many of the menu items were sold out, which means that they were especially popular that day :)

Nice place, good food and good price. They have different flavours of beers. At weekend they have live music.

I highly recommend this place especially for Sundays noon with live jazz music and huge, delicious portions of roasted meat, pies or homemade burgers. The atmosphere also is very warm, the staff very friendly and the fans of board games won't be disappointed.

This place used to be great, but has been disappointing recently. Food portions have become smaller, and customer service is horrible. Good selection of beers.

Description
A Reading pub with a relaxing vibe. Regulars say The Abbot Cook has 'the best beer garden in Reading', but that's not entirely true; it has two. With a line-up of entertainment as eclectic as its top-drawer drinks list, there's also plenty going on inside this Cemetery Junction pub. Don't get us wrong, though: we're more 'gently buzzing' than rowdy and raucous. Our comfy surroundings are perfectly conducive for unwinding over a post-work pint, or kicking back over a hand-carved Sunday roast and a generous serving of chilled out tunes.
