Drove past the Iron Duke on one occasion and suggested to my partner that we would pop in on another date, as I'm quite partial to quaint country pubs that aren't in the prime of locations for people driving by and packing it out with their custom! We went unfortunately when they had a private function going off in the... More

Great little find! Popped in for a bite to lunch after the Wellington Arms had closed down, was lovely to see a roaring fire as we walked in.

We decided to have Xmas lunch at a restaurant, for the first time ever. Our son in law was told the iron duke was good so we booked, there were five of us plus our one year old grandson. My first impression was of a welcoming English inn. Cosy, not pretentious and very warm and welcoming. The owner and a... More

We enjoyed a good meal and the food was delicious (camembert to start was delicious, the roast beef was good, mulled wine eton mess average) but the service was very slow and like they didn't really care. After 1hr 15mins we'd only been offered one drink and trying to get their attention was hard (they never seemed to be around... More

Booked here, after a recommendation of the lovely food and portions. I had previously looked online at the menu and was looking forward to it. However we were only offered the Christmas menu on arrival, much to the disappointment of my mum who'd already selected her pudding. Not my first choice, but I had the turkey dinner. It was nice,... As if designed by the gods themselves, placed so delicately inside the landscape of Hampshire county is the most charming eatery we have seen in a long time. A succinct menu complete with crowd pleasing favourites and complimented by arousing adaptations of seasonal dishes. Service outstanding, quality of the ambiance impeccable, and in reality - just a lovely place to... More

Very nice location & great snug for pre dinner drinks. Friendly staff and good menu incorporating local game and produce. Our friends enjoyed a healthy sized portion of camembert to start while my other half had broccoli and Stilton soup. I had the fish pie full of decent chunks of fish, and our table also had smoked haddock risotto, fish... More

We were a party of 11 who had booked a table prior to arrival. The Iron Duke is slightly out of the way in the small village of Stratfield Saye, but it sits in a lovely location, plenty of parking and a warm welcome awaits you. The menu is very good and varied, served in a stylish way by the... More
