Excellent Sunday lunch was enjoyed by all including a toddler and a vegetarian, giant Yorkshire puds, tasty roasted veg and well cooked meats, we all had something different. Good service

The poor waiter was on his own on a Sunday morning doing his best and doing it well but was starting to struggle as it got busier. The food was well presented but that was about it. Pouched eggs were over cooked and the rest of the food was bland. I enjoyed my latte but I won't be going back,... More

Visited today for lunch, very disappointing experience. Food was great 3 adult roast dinners and 2 children's meals. NO beer on tap!! How can an establishment of this run out or beer on a Sunday afternoon?? It's is obviously due to poor management on stock control. I'm a senior manager and it this happens in my line of business I... More

Dear Lmd8 So glad you enjoyed all of your meals. But please do not be too quick to fire off accusations about poor management, stock control and being held accountable. The only reason we unfortunately could not serve any draught beer on Sunday was because of a faulty beer cooling machine, a mechanical issue, something broke down Lmd8, an issue... More

This is a really nice Browns, feeling a cross between a bar and a brasserie. On Saturday it was buzzing. Food was good, with the fish cakes and burgers excellent. Friendly service. One of the better choices along Riverside.

Popped in this evening (Sat 26th Nov 2016) on the off chance of a table for 2 for dinner. our waiter George couldn't do enough for us and nothing was any trouble.. even moving tables as we were getting cold sitting near the front door. Three cheers for George, he was superb. Food was lovely and wine nicely chilled.

Visited the restaurant on Saturday 19th with our family as a party of 8. We had to ask the waiter quite a few times for a chiller for the white wine, then again about 4 times for a jug of water, we actually saw him walk away and shake his head at us when we were forced to ask another... More

Dear Kim H I have spoken to the waiter concerned, the manager on duty and viewed CCTV to get a clear picture of events. The waiter had already made it clear to you that he was in the process of trying to find a water jug as they were all in use so I'm not sure why you had to... More

Just out for an impromptu early dinner. Good food and courteous, polite staff. The Christmas menu is available and the early bird is really good value.

Family party of 19 to celebrate birthdays ranging from 21 to 60! Good night out at Brown's in Reading. Staff team where well organised and very helpful in ensuring all was ok. Great location on the riverbank in the centre of Reading, amazing to see how much it has all changed over the years. Only downside was that the drinks... More

We enjoyed an early dinner. Very friendly staff. The menu is ok - over the years I have found it has become a bit more fussy; I find I like the protein offered but not the accompaniments or vice versa. I never bother with desserts here as they do not inspire me.I think I am getting fussier! I wish they... More
