Hidden down the side road in Bath, Chequers is a gorgeous cosy little pub with excellent gourmet pub good. Roast was delicious. Recommended!
Great food, beautifully presented but very slow service and small portions. The beetroot starter looked beautiful. We had our starters at about 7.45pm and our main course at least an hour later!
Booked Mother’s Day here for 7 people. Service was average- had to wait a long time for food to arrive despite preordering and late afternoon. Also took ages to get bill and pay for food when leaving. I appreciate it was Mother’s Day and most...More

Hi Richard! It was an absolute pleasure to host your work party and it's wonderful to hear that the service, food and wine went down so well!
Fantastic evening meal at The Chequers. Slightly off the beaten track, but then Bath is so small that isn’t really an issue. The interior is very relaxed and combines the feel of the old pub with that of a well thought out restaurant. Very cosy...More

This is quite local to us and we love it. The food is delicious and the service is friendly professional and attentive. Lovely Sunday lunch but could do with bigger portions. Can take the dog which is an absolute plus. Highly recommend 😁

We went here on a Monday lunchtime as a group of 5. We had the set menu (2 courses for £19 or 3 courses for £23.50) and it was absolutely delicious. I really recommend the gnocchi and the other people loved their cod and pig...More

We came here for Sunday lunch and the whole place is lovely, it’s like a posh pub. Nice light dining area and upstairs there’s a brilliant large window that lets you see the kitchen. The down side of this means you are aware of things...More
We were so disappointed to read your account of your last visit-even though you rightly point out that we were careful to uphold our standards in re-firing a dish for you, this level of care and quality should have been reflected in both dishes. It...More
I chose this restaurant for a special occasion, primarily based on TripAdvisor reviews. But, to be honest, I was a bit disappointed by the service. It wasn't particularly busy but everything was really slow. Of course, good food takes time, but it was fifteen minutes...More
We share your disappointment that you suffered long waits, this is not a piece of feedback we are used to hearing and it's such a shame as it sounds as if this issue affected your whole experience with us. I wonder if you would have...More
