Never mind the excellent selection of Bath Ales on tap, the food is delicious. Had the best ox cheek ever here, with a scrumptious horseradish mash. My wife had a delicious fan-fried cod. The prices are reasonable, and, of course, the drink is superb. If ever in Bath, do make your way to this cozy pub.

This bar reminds me of the small bars that can be found in the Little Italy area of Manhattan. If I owned a bar, this would be it. Today's visit, my girlfriend and me, a pre-theatre shared steak sandwich and chips, a pint of Amstel beer and a Cappuccino, all in less that £25, great service, friendly service, I will... More

Arrived early before the Bath / Bristol rugby game. Serves good ales - the Bath Gem gets a special mention- and a wonderful cold meats starter board. Staff friendly and attentive even when busy and the atmosphere is fantastic and noisy especially about an hour to go before the 'kick-off' of the rugby game with lots of rugby followers and... More

Didn't eat here on our recent visit, but of all the pubs we did sample- this was the best for drinks! Nice surroundings and great choice of well kept beer. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!

Came here after a wonder around bath and needed a drink! Loverly place, we didn't eat however the olives where lush! My partner enjoyed his pint and my wine hit the spot! The price is that bit more than most places but I found that bath was quite expensive but I am from up north! Haha x we would recommend... More

Not sure about the restaurant but the bar had a great atmosphere and a good place to have a drink. Prices good and bar staff friendly.

We ate here as our usual choice for a pre match meal was full. Pleasant surroundings in an upstairs eating area but the prices were expensive even for Bath. A round of drinks, two orange and lemonade and a beer were over £10 which was not a good start! My cheeseburger came with chips but at £12 was very expensive,... More

We had a good pint of beer, but 1 pint and 175ml glass of wine cost us over £10. The most expensive round we have had by far while on holiday in Bath. We left to find somewhere a little cheaper. The loos were not too brilliant either and the bar staff not very friendly. I could not understand why... More

I found this little gem to have everything needed in a good, traditional pub, and nothing more. They don't try to be everything to everyone, as many pubs have become these days. Expect to find a decent variety of hand-pulled cask ales from nearby Bath Ales brewing, each served in a proper pint glass, typically bearing the brew's name. It's... More

The Salamander is great city-centre pub, 'The Sally' serves good food and a fine choice of beers from Bath Ales and beyond, and welcomes a friendly, eclectic audience. It's small, it's snug but it's oh so special! The Salamander is tucked neatly away just off Queen Square in the heart of the Georgian city of Bath. Historically a 'steak and chop house', it now consists of a wonderfully simple bar on the ground floor and an impressive dining room complete with galley kitchen upstairs.Using the finest produce from local suppliers, 'The Sally' is renowned for its imaginative and varied menu, available both downstairs in the bar and upstairs.
