A typical pub setting. A good choice of meals for Sunday lunch including roasts & vegetarian options, we all enjoyed our main meals & puddings. The only down side was how cold it was inside the pub despite a log fire at the far end of the room, one of our party kept their coat on. We received mixed service.

Every neighbourhood should have a local pub, a place where people of diverse backgrounds, ages and occupations, meet drink and get along. The Pulteney Arms is just such a place. The building goes back to the Eighteenth Century. The interior has bags of character. The food and drink is good, the staff are friendly and the clientele are sociable locals, many... More

Thank you for taking the time to write a review for us. It's very rewarding to read such compliments and praise about our very old traditional public house. You may know that we are a small, mostly family team. We are owned by Enterprise but we are putting our own traditional style into the pub. We feel local pubs are... More

Lovely, popular, friendly pub with a great choice of beer and bar food beyond the usual snacks. Try their Scotch eggs!

Thank you for writing a review for us. We are pleased you enjoyed your visit. We stock a good variety of real ale and cider. We make our scotch eggs regularly and they are very popular so do not last long! Other snacks on offer and proving popular are our macaroni cheese bites with bacon chutney. More

My husband and I wanted a walk and roast dinner last Sunday and decided on the Bath Skyline and finishing off at the Pulteney Arms. The fire was lit making it warm and cosy, it wasn't busy when we arrived, but quickly the tables filled up giving a nice buzz about the place. The service was speedy and welcoming and... More

Ten of us went to the Pulteney Arms for a post exhibition opening meal in December. We had pre-ordered our meals (at the pub's request, as they are busy before Christmas). We were placed in the quiet room upstairs (away from the nosier bars) and looked after extremely well by the staff - we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals and... More

Atmosphere fine as quiz night. Lovely young lady served us. Went there having read the fabulous reviews as not far from MacDonald hotel where we were staying. Arrived 8.30 ish and they stop serving at 9. Quiz was in full swing. I ordered the salmon fillet and purple potatoes with kale and caper butter sauce which for the price was... More

My wife's work's Christmas 'do' has been held at many different venues with different cuisines and all have been okay but largely due to the company and not particularly the food. This year Upstairs at the Pulteney was picked as the venue and may well become the annual location as the food was this time the highlight of the event.... More

Yesterday 11 of us visited the Pulteney Arms for our works Christmas outing. We had booked to be in the private room upstairs, lovely dining room, nicely decorated and great atmosphere. We had fantastic food, the venison tartar was delicious and something new to me. The soup also looked good and was fondly spoken of. I had the roast turkey... More
