After explaining our quest we were told about this speciality coffee shop by our walking tour guide, Sue Swainbank. Delighted with our coffees - flat white and latte - and the lovely, helpful service, including an explanation of the available coffees.Date and ginger cake was good. Seating area is fairly small and we shared with someone. Quite a few customers... More

The coffee here is good (the hot choc was arguably better...), but that was about all that I was really sold on. The service was fine and the decor was simple/understated (a mix of minimalist and high-end), but both were a bit too "proud" for me (for lack of a better word, it was a bit too pretentious, East London-style,... There is lots of great coffee to be had in Bath but not here. Barista's seem to be on some kind of power trip and don't want to listen to simple requests. After being completely confused by their options I told them I wanted a strong black coffee. They recommended a filter coffee. It was black but certainly not strong.... More

Been here a couple of times now. It's very popular and the coffee is excellent. Be prepared to be cross examined regarding your drink selection, which isn't always what you are after. On my first visit I just wanted a quick takeaway coffee, nothing fancy, but had to endure a mumbling series of questions about how I liked my coffee... More

My sole purpose for the trip was to visit cafes and try different beans. Colonna was definitely one of the best cafes I visited so far. Roasting and brewing conversations were interesting enough to go on for days. I would absolutely recommend Colonna to any specialty coffee addicts.

If you're serious about coffee, this is the place. No frilly extras, just great coffee. There are a few good organic cake-snacks, which are good, but no food. All about coffee. Baristas will help you decide and will always talk you through the different brew options. All round great experience.

There is no way that we could go to Bath these days without stopping off here for a coffee. So it was our first port of call when we arrived for a full day bread making course, the theatre in the evening and an overnight stay. We ended up having two flat whites each, covering all three of the different... More

I've been here a few times now before writing this review and I have to admit I'm baffled by its popularity. My coffee of choice is a flat white but I have had others here. My flat white was very average, tasted more like coffee flavoured milk. I'm sure this has something to do with them dialling in their grinder... More

Funky set up. Well designed space. Delicious peanut butter and jam cake and interesting good coffee - they even do their own brew Nespresso pods to take home!

Thank Jane T
